We’re looking to grow our team by selectively adding senior talent. You will not only bring years of experience in performance modeling and simulation but also the ability and desire to invent best-in-class microarchitecture features optimized for performance and power. We research, model, simulate and ultimately define the CPUs of the future.

The focus will be on overall CPU performance including modeling new features in a cycle accurate performance model, optimizing microarchitecture features, and validating the performance characteristics of RTL models and actual silicon. The microarchitecture definition is developed in close collaboration with silicon architects, RTL design, pre-Si verification and SoC performance teams. Power simulation and estimation is also part of the performance model, and power improvements and optimization is within the scope of this position. In addition, it requires close collaboration with the post-silicon validation/debug teams to root cause and resolve performance issues.

Behavioral traits that we are looking for:

  • Ability to work well in teams and independently drive architecture issues.
  • Strong analytical ability, problem solving and communication skills
  • Experience in writing technical documents

Responsibilities will include a variety of areas:

  • Modeling new microarchitecture features performance model in C++.
  • Analyzing performance characteristics and evaluating the option space for features.
  • Work with silicon architects, logic and circuit design teams to optimize microarchitecture features for performance, power and area.
  • Work with pre- and post-Si validation teams to correlate performance projections.
  • Embed the CPU model into uncore models and work with SoC teams on system performance.

BS, MS or PhD degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering or related field and with 9+ years (BS), 6+ years (MS), 4+ years (PhD) experience in CPU microarchitecture and performance modeling.

In addition, you should have the experience noted above in the following areas:
