Corporate Risk Governance Analyst II

The Analyst II will contribute to enterprise risk governance and framework initiatives by performing research and analysis, and through data mining initiatives and report automation. This position will also contribute heavily to the planning and preparation of risk reporting for the Enterprise Risk Committee and Risk Committee of the Board of Directors. The Analyst II will frequently collaborate with other business units to promote risk practices, and share risk intelligence and insights by preparing and occasionally presenting research and analysis.|

  • 4 Year College Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related quantitative disciplineor Equivalent Experience
  • Graduate Degree preferred
  • 2+ years of exerience
  • Strong understanding of risk management theory and practice
  • Experience in financial markets and an understanding of the brokerage business model
  • Proven ability to create professional and polished presentation materials and research reports
  • Understanding of statistical analysis and econometric modelling approaches 
  • Experience with data mining techniques and analytics skills using database technologies such as SQL or Hadoop
  • Experience using data visualization to clearly convey business intelligence using software such as tableau 
  • Developing ability to automate reports and processes using languages such as C++ and Python
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships and communicate (written, orally) with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to create and communicate complex analytics so they are easy to understand
  • Ability to balance multiple complex and sometimes competing initiatives which are often time sensitive
  • Military education or experience may be considered in lieu of civilian requirements listed
  • Professional Risk Management certification preferred

    • Conduct analysis of market, trade, and financial data contained within SQL and Hadoop databases to establish models which measure and aggregate various types of risk exposures (financial, operational, etc.).
    • Utilize technologies such as Python and R to create statistical models which quantify the impact of the firm’s operating environment on key risk and performance indicators, and develop methods for quantitatively forecasting risk exposures
    • Participate in the quarterly planning and development of presentation materials for the Enterprise Risk Committee and Risk Committee of the Board of Directors
    • Conduct research and analysis into complex enterprise risk topics, and summarize for slide decks and presentation materials which will be used at the highest levels including TDA Board meetings, risk governance committee meetings, and various product meetings.
    • Create new enterprise risk reporting using SQL/Hadoop databases, and utilizing languages including C++, Python, and JavaScript to automate reports or create web applications
    • Create professional and polished research reports into the drivers of key risks facing the enterprise, which can be disseminated across the firm, including our firm’s senior management.
    • Research the impact and likelihood of new risk exposures manifesting, which may have a material impact on the company’s strategy and create volatility in earnings, and formulate possible mitigation steps.
