HMC Maintenance has an outstanding opportunity for a full time day shift Construction Project Coordinator 2.

The Construction Project Coordinator 2 will coordinate construction/renovation projects at Harborview Medical Center. The manager will typically receive assigned project(s) and coordinate with various Harborview Medical Center trade disciplines, Harborview Medical Center support services and vendors required for project completion. The manager serves as the project’s primary contact and as the owner’s representative. Projects range from simple to complex.

Job Responsibilities:

•     Helps with designs, Infection Control Risk Assessment and Interim Life Safety Measures.
•     Create schedules, estimates, work orders, obtain permits, other project documentation and distributes to involved parties.
•     Conduct and/or attend project meetings including document reviews, pre-construction,    troubleshooting and negotiations.
•     Coordinate hazardous materials abatement for projects with proper consultants, contractors, and Harborview Medical Center safety professionals.
•     Coordinate shutdowns as required.
•     Receive, evaluate, and respond to correspondence (RFI’s for example) from trade personnel, contractors, consultants, regulatory agencies, Harborview Medical Center administration, and the customer.
•     Conduct field inspections to make sure projects meet construction standards and specifications; write progress reports, make field sketches where necessary, write punch lists, coordinate commissioning/acceptance testing by others, schedule inspections by authorities having jurisdiction.
•     Process change orders to be approved by others.
•     Perform tasks necessary for project closeout.  (Acceptance of work, as-built drawings, operation and maintenance training manuals, initiate move process, respond to problems during warranty period.
•     May direct work of other staff.
•     Maintains orderly project files.
•     Perform related duties as required.
•     Reports to the Construction Manager.

Desired Qualifications:

Positions typically require a Bachelor’s degree in architecture, naval architecture, engineering or building construction, or marine engineering AND one year of relevant professional experience.
