We have an exciting opportunity for a Configuration Management Specialist to join our Configuration and Data Management (CDM) team located in Huntsville, AL.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administers activities related to CDM planning, identification, change control, CDM status accounting, and verification and audits of engineering and program documents for systems and/or equipment in accordance with contractual requirements and industry best practices per EIA-649 and MIL-HB-61.
  • Communicate CDM program status and risks, regularly and persistently, with GA-EMS CDM functional management in San Diego, CA.
  • Maintains CDM procedures to implement and processes engineering drawing and documents to include CDRL and SDRL items for all assigned projects to ensure compliance with policies and scheduling requirements.
  • Participates in reviewing engineering change data and coordinates changes with program management, engineering, quality assurance, material management and manufacturing to ensure compliance with customer requirements and Company policy and CDM procedures.
  • Reviews work project notifications to assure the accuracy of current contractual reporting requirements.
  • Maintains procedures for storage, retention and destruction of company records, processing, filming, storing and retrieving current and historical design, technical and programmatic documents according to project, customer and company practices and requirements.
  • May participate in change control meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering or a related discipline and six or more years of progressive government or commercial configuration management experience. Equivalent professional government or commercial configuration management experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Configuration management experience per EIA-649 and/or MIL-HB-61 is desired.
  • Equivalent professional government or commercial configuration management experience maybe substituted in lieu of education.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance is required.
  • Experience using the Windchill product lifecycle management (PLM) tool to conduct engineering change management over multiple isolated networks.
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks product data management (PDM) systems and Atlassian development applications is preferred.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of configuration management concepts, principles and practices per EIA-649, related governmental rules and regulations, and experience demonstrating a general application of those concepts, principles, and practices.
  • Must possess the ability to participate in the development of new concepts, communicate, and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment.
  • Organization skills to plan and coordinate work phases, and the ability to determine the appropriate approach at the task or project level, and provide solutions to non-routine proposal problems.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, presentation and interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of employees and management.
  • Ability to represent the organization on proposal matters with external customers, and to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment is essential, as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
