We have an exciting opportunity for a Configuration Management Specialist to join our team located in Englewood, CO.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Administers configuration and data management activities for hardware and software related to identification, control, status accounting, and configuration auditing of program and engineering documents for systems and/or equipment in accordance with contractual requirements supporting multiple space systems programs.
  • Ensures customer requirements are implemented and reviews change accounting activity for compliance with configuration and data management procedures.
  • Maintains procedures to implement and process engineering drawings and documents to include CDRL and SDRL data for all assigned projects to ensure compliance with policies and scheduling requirements.
  • Participates in analyzing and processing engineering releases and changes for configuration management and reviewing these releases and changes with the development and test teams, quality assurance, procurement and manufacturing to ensure compliance with customer requirements and Company policy.
  • Reviews work project notifications to assure the accuracy of current contractual reporting requirements.
  • Maintains procedures for storage, retention and destruction of company records, processing, indexing, storing and retrieving current and historical design, technical and programmatic documents according to project, customer and company practices and requirements.
  • Administration of change control meetings.
  • Administer and coordinate the release states between the version control system of the development environment and the formal Windchill release system of the company.
  • Submit periodic reports on configuration and data management status on multiple programs.
  • Audit quality of configuration and data management work products.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering or a related discipline and six or more years of progressive aerospace or defense configuration management experience. Equivalent professional aerospace or defense configuration management experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • Hands-on experience using the product lifecycle management (PLM) tool Windchill, SolidWorks PDM Professional or a comparable PLM tool to conduct engineering change management.
  • Hands-on experience utilizing the concepts and principles, related governmental rules and regulations and experience demonstrating a general application of those concepts and principles per EIA-649, and other relevant industry standards and best practices for configuration and data management of aerospace and defense systems.
  • Ability to manage, release, and archive Hardware and Software baselines.
  • Hands-on experience with processing software releases and changes through the change management process.
  • Must possess the ability to participate in the development of new configuration and data management concepts, communicate and apply them accurately throughout an evolving environment.
  • Organization skills to coordinate work phases and the ability to determine the appropriate approach at the task or project level and provide solutions to non-routine problems.
  • Good communication, documentation, presentation and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of employees and management.
  • Ability to represent the organization on proposal matters with external customers, and to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to enthusiastically work extended hours and travel as required.
  • Pursue complete customer service excellence with integrity and within the constraints of schedules and budgets.
  • Maintains confidentiality and security of intellectual property (ITAR, Proprietary).
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
  • Must be able to travel (10%) to attend training and to provide training sessions as required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with configuration and data management for space systems programs
  • Experience with formal project management practices per PMI including Earned Value and Risk Management tools
  • Experience with product lifecycles from proposal to development, production, sustainment support
  • Experience working with CMMI and AS9100 process requirements
  • Certifications in Configuration Management
  • Experience with MS Project and MS PowerPoint software
  • Detailed collaboration, coordination and communication with management team located in San Diego, CA
