Our division prevents, detects and mitigates compliance, regulatory and reputational risk across the firm and helps to strengthen the firms culture of compliance. Compliance accomplishes these through the firms enterprise-wide compliance risk management program. As an independent control function and part of the firms second line of defense, Compliance assesses the firms compliance, regulatory and reputational risk; monitors for compliance with new or amended laws, rules and regulations; designs and implements controls, policies, procedures and training; conducts independent testing; investigates, surveils and monitors for compliance risks and breaches; and leads the firms responses to regulatory examinations, audits and inquiries. You'll be part of a team with members from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds, such as law, accounting, sales, and trading. We look for those who possess sound judgment, curiosity, and are able to adapt to a changing regulatory landscape. 


\u200b\u200bGoldman Sachs Asset Management Compliance is seeking a Vice President with asset management experience to join our Alternative Investments & Manager Selection (AIMS) coverage team based in New York. The GSAM AIMS business provides investors with investment and advisory solutions across leading hedge fund managers, private equity funds, private credit funds, real estate managers, and public equity, fixed income and ESG strategies. The AIMS Group manages globally diversified commingled fund products, targeted sector-specific strategies, customized portfolios, and offers a range of advisory services. The AIMS Group provides manager diligence, portfolio construction, risk management, and liquidity solutions to investors, drawing on Goldman Sachs' market insights and risk management expertise. 




As part of the AIMS Compliance team, the primary responsibilities of the Vice President will include: 

  • Provide advisory support to the business on a daily basis
  • Liaise with business and control-side stakeholders on regulatory and risk management initiatives
  • Conduct targeted due diligence assessments on third-party manager compliance programs
  • Review marketing materials
  • Perform forensic reviews
  • Create and deliver compliance trainings
  • Provide guidance on diverse issues such as: cross-divisional interactions, investment and expense allocations, employee registrations
  • Conduct gap analysis reviews and present findings in an organized format

The individual will interact with different business lines and control functions, including various Compliance teams, Operations, IT, Legal and Controllers.


Basic Qualifications

  •  BA/BS
  • Ability to discuss complex issues succinctly
  • Strong sense of urgency
  • Risk and control focused individual with excellent judgment
  • Sharp intellect and ability to understand difficult, complex compliance and business problems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills \u2013 team player, able to forge relationships, build consensus and influence decisions
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work independently, and proactively follow-up
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Concise written and oral communication skills
