The Consumer Business Operational Risk & Control (CBORC) Compliance Business Control Senior Manager is a strategic professional who drives results across the US Personal Banking Sales Practice Surveillance Program. A successful individual is one that is adaptable to a variety of types of work, including being able to respond to the variety of challenges and initiatives. As the Execution Manager this position is responsible for managing the execution of activities associated with the sales practice oversight program covering North America businesses. This role is accountable for leading and developing a group of diverse talent in the identification, escalation, analysis, reporting, and monitoring of sales practices risks and issues. Additionally, this role supports various program specific key strategic initiatives such as but not limited to the integration of conduct risk into the sale surveillance assessment and reporting process/routines and identifying sales practice themes and trends for escalation. The candidate must be an exceptional coach and possess a demonstrated understanding of process and workflow management, excellent communication skills, and strong time management skills.


+ Manages the execution of Sales Practice Assessment activities ensuring best in class quality and timeliness

+ Coordinates with business and investigative partners to ensure assessed matters are appropriately documented

+ Leverage strong business process orientation and facilitation skills necessary to work with the multiple partners, Lines of Business, and Lines of Defense

+ Create and facilitate project governance routines to remove roadblocks, facilitate decision-making, and drive strategic initiatives across functions

+ Recognized as a leadership role model and SME to senior stakeholders and team members

+ Facilitates and ensures Issue Management Quality Standards are met for issues documented

+ Manages and optimizes team productivity, cultivates a team of well trained and highly capable risk professionals. This includes duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations

+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


+ 6+ years of prior experience in control, compliance, risk or regulatory management in the banking or credit card industry.

+ Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with all levels of the organization including senior management

+ Possesses strong project management and interpersonal skills, makes sound decisions, exhibiting initiative and intuitive thinking

+ Demonstrated ability to influence a group of diverse stakeholders and drive accountability and ownership with key business partners and process owners

+ Strong relationship management skills with ability to deepen relationships and build partnerships across the US Personal Bank businesses and key support areas like Audit, Compliance, Control, Independent Risk, and Legal

+ Detail oriented, with proven ability to question and identify opportunities within existing processes and business practices by leveraging previous experiences and knowledge of the US Personal Bank businesses

+ Self-motivated with a passion for establishing and maintaining a culture of control within the business

+ Experience using Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint and Word a plus


+ Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experience preferred
