Commodity Manager

Job Description

The Commodity Manager will:

  • Be accountable for supplier's supply line health, contracts, quality, and delivery by being actively involve with managing new item and CIP modification purchases to support next generation technology along with driving lower cost of ownership for Intel with the supplier.
  • Partner with a diverse stakeholder, suppliers, and technical partners to lead and develop multiyear commodity strategies based on Intel's product and technical roadmap and business/market intelligence.
  • Acquire and maintains industry, market, and technical knowledge of commodities and leads supplier selection and supply chain development/enabling.
  • Set the expectations to the suppliers for new suppliers, develop strong supply chain through supplier education/onboarding processes. Negotiate purchasing contracts, statement of works and pricing for goods and/or services.
  • Be a point of escalation for delivery issues and mediate on commercial disputes, own supplier contracts, partner with technical engineers and Finance to develop ROI models, review should cost models, and negotiate with the supplier to meet Intel's business objectives.
  • Drive cost saving opportunities in partnership with suppliers and stakeholders to meet business objectives.
  • Establish and manage the business process with the supplier on forecast and deliveries.
  • Partner with other members of the Intel diverse account team to develop and align on the strategy for supplier management to drive the supplier to be world class.
  • Be involved in managing suppliers in different geographies and early morning or late night meetings are often required.
  • Mediate between Intel engineering/stakeholders and supplier in changing business dynamic situations and finding a win-win solutions. Interface with a cross-functional diverse group at multiple levels.
  • Influence team members, stakeholders, and the supplier to make the right decision even if it is not the majority's view.
  • Orchestrate unified communication internally and externally with suppliers, including executive management meetings and strategic direction alignment.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must possess at least one of the following degrees; plus, the years of experience determined for each degree in the areas specified below:  

  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience in Commodity Management.
  • Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience in Commodity Management.
  • Ph.D. with 2+ years of relevant experience in Commodity Management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA degree with relevant experience.
  • Program management experience.
  • Experience with writing contracts, supplier negotiations.
  • Experience with developing ROI's and should cost modeling with finance.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
