Northrop Grumman Space Systems has an opening for an **Electronics/Electro-Mechanical Engineer Level 2 or Principal Engineer Level 3** to join our Commodity Engineering Team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in **Redondo Beach, CA** .

The Commodity Engineering Team is responsible for supply base technical management related to the acquisition of Space electronic and electrical hardware. This high visibility position requires a motivated, self-starter with an engineering and electronic component background with good interpersonal skills to respond to program customer product needs and concerns. The candidate will require a fundamental technical understanding of one or more of the following areas: Hi-Rel electronic components, active/passive electronic components, FPGA's, ASIC's, Hybrids, associated fabrication processes, electronic subsystem assembly integration & test, and failure analysis techniques. Candidate will be expected to work effectively with Parts, Materials & Processes (PM&P) and other Engineering organizations to help resolve supplier issues and provide successful execution of technical solutions for acquisition activities in support of Global Supply Chain.

Responsibilities also include performing product producibility reviews, technical evaluations of proposals and supporting the internal processes associated with program part/product selection, qualification and approval, supplier capability approvals, manage work transfers, as well as hardware failure analysis and investigations. Candidate is expected to have the ability to work both independently and as a team player and must demonstrate the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively with varying levels of program customers and functional organization leadership.

**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Bachelors Degree in a STEM (Science, Technical, Engineering, or Mathematical) degree, with 2 years' of experience in an Engineering or Manufacturing role; OR 0 years' with a Masters Degree in STEM for a level 2;
+ Bachelors Degree in a STEM (Science, Technical, Engineering, or Mathematical) degree, with 5 years' of experience in an Engineering or Manufacturing role; OR 3 years with a Masters for a level 3
+ Demonstrated experience to formulate and execute technical solutions to complex part, assembly, and process engineering challenges
+ Demonstrated experience reviewing engineering specifications, schematics and drawings with the ability to translate customer driven requirements into specifications
+ Demonstrated experience using SAP, Windows software packages, and other electronic databases
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a SCI clearance

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Electronic Component/Supplier Engineering experience
+ Experience and understanding of standards for the production of high reliability active, RF/Passives and Hybrid Electronic Components
+ Project Management experience
+ Knowledge of FAR & DFAR requirements
+ Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 requirements

Salary Range: $74,900.00 - $112,300.00Salary Range 2: $92,200.00 - $138,400.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
