About The Role

The Commercial Marketing Manager is a key member of the Country Leadership Team and contributes to Country growth by developing and implementing a robust Sales & Marketing Plan, which generates high volume, quality sales-ready leads.

The role includes leading and developing a team to achieve the plan, executing a diverse and large number of campaigns and working with the Global Marketing team who supports the Country. You will work closely with commercial leaders in supporting and executing on sales bridges to ensure we maximise the opportunities for revenue across all channels. Strong leadership and understanding of the sales process are needed along with marketing experience.

Key Responsibilities:

People management & organisation agility

  • Lead, coach, mentor our Marketing team
  • Influence behaviour and change to further progress a partnership approach to all parts of our commercial business
  • Experience of working in a matrix environment
  • Develop and lead change initiatives, partnering with close alignment to all commercial functions including sales and service
  • Lead all engagement activity for the team
  • Lead by example as a people leader for Videojet and Danaher
  • Develop, implement and progress associate development
  • For personal and business growth and develop using our DBS tools establish Standards of Performance for direct reports and set expectations on completion of responsibilities and duties

    Lead generation

    • Achieve lead generation (volume and quality) targets to deliver on the UK & Ireland sales growth
    • Deliver year-on-year increase in generating leads to drive sales growth
    • Build and lead closed loop lead generation process
    • Establish and maintain process for handling leads from Lead creation to customer order with full transparency of status
    • Report on ageing in Lead stages and work with Sales/other leadership to address responsiveness gap. Eliminate any Lead shrinkage/loss in the process
    • Establish priority verticals and other business priorities as input to Plan
    • Build a full, calendared set of customer campaigns and other activities to achieve objectives

      Define the budget through annual planning process

      • Build annual marketing plan and budget, establish objectives for the plan to include market and competitor awareness and lead generation target
      • Build and execute local country campaigns, following global approach, standards, and brand guidelines
      • Lead business development team, including providing call lists, driving call productivity
      • Partner with Service leader to drive growth in Service leads, providing tracking and process for rewards
      • Provide updated monthly forecast input

        Support implementation of local activity

        • Active participation in communicating new product to local sales
        • Attend exhibitions/ and trade shows
        • Develop local marketing tools (brochures, presentations, flyers, etc)
        • Create content and update Country website and engage in social media in Country as directed by the marketing team in the USA

          Define, lead and continuously improve marketing team results/metrics

          • Regular reporting of results versus Plan
          • Visual management of Marketing performance
          • Track campaign results for standard work sharing or improving as necessary

            Build comprehensive database of addressable market

            • Incorporate all relevant sites, contacts in the market as well as full details for the contact
            • Lead a data maintenance process to improve and refresh the database, including those who interact with customers and prospects
            • Build and evolve a view on total market size (number of sites) by vertical, especially for priority verticals

              Relationship Management

              • Key Member and Contributor to Country Leadership Tea and a peer to other direct reports to Country Manager
              • Participate in Monthly Operating Reviews and Country planning process
              • Create and share local case studies and application notes as assigned by the global marketing team, providing feedback on campaign materials and priorities as requested
              • Professionally develop the team with proper development plans, assignments, objectives and succession planningManage and develop Marketing team
                • Recruit, build and top-grade team as necessary

                • Build successor(s)

                  Sales Force Initiatives

                  • Support the building and delivering of sales training on CRM (SFDC) and quoting (CPQ) tools
                  • Designated Super User for SFDC and CPQ for the country
                  • Support commercial leaders by providing meaningful and measurable sales trend data to maximise sales force efficiencies
                  • Certified practitioner in Sales Funnel Management to support the deployment within the country sales and the marketing teams

                    Qualifications/Experience:

                    • A degree in marketing or business-related subject area.
                    • Sales and Marketing experience in B2B for capital equipment
                    • People leadership and development experience
                    • Experienced in lead generation programs
                    • Developed successful content and campaign materials beyond product collateral
                    • Digital marketing understanding (at minimum PPC, SEO, email savvy even if not AdWords specialist, for example)
                    • Metric driven, quantified approach to Marketing with a continuous improvement approach
                    • Experienced in the development and execution of a marketing strategy, delivering business growth
