As the wholesale banking industry is undergoing significant change and clients expectations for solutions, service and delivery are evolving, CCB aims to enhance its value proposition and position itself as the leading Commercial Bank. CCB is already engaged in several initiatives to digitally transform the business across the client journey: from onboarding and underwriting to lending and relationship management. In addition to these existing initiatives, CCBs vision includes building a commercial banking ecosystem through which it can holistically provide its clients not just the full range of Citis solutions, but also form partnerships with other providers of new age financial solutions.
CCB is seeking a strategic leader who can develop this vision and lead the development of its commercial banking ecosystem. The leader will be responsible for taking this vision from strategy to execution. The goal is to collaborate with the various product and project teams within CCB/Citi, Citi Ventures, emerging external providers to create the ecosystem. The successful candidate will therefore need to exhibit an exceptional ability to identify, negotiate and secure business partnerships both within and outside of Citi. The ability to establish, foster trusting and effective relationships is also critical to this role.

In this capacity the Commercial Ecosystem Leader will work closely with the CCB leadership team to support the overall growth and profitability of the Commercial Bank, focusing on enhancing the value proposition, proactively addressing upcoming disruption, forming partnerships with new age providers and creating a leading external position for CCB. The role will report directly to the Global CCB CEO and will be part of the Senior Leadership Team of the business.
The leader will be responsible for the following activities:
  • Form collaborative partnerships with CCB and Citis current project and product teams
  • Constantly scan the external landscape to identify, negotiate and establish partnerships with providers of adjacent client solutions
  • Develop partnerships with the relevant external providers
  • Develop the vision, strategy and implementation plan for the commercial ecosystem so that these capabilities are seamlessly delivered to clients via a single platform, across geographies and channels
  • Leverage various project streams within Citi, create additional projects only as needed and deliver the commercial ecosystem as a platform for CCBs clients
  • Commercialize the capabilities in partnership with CCBs Leadership team and Citis Marketing group
The key competencies of the ideal candidate for the position are:
  • Strong ability to understand both Citis and CCBs Strategy, Value Proposition and Products
  • Deep knowledge of the Digital and FinTech trends within wholesale banking
  • Forward-compatible and client-centric mindset: sharp awareness of present and future client needs
  • Strong and clear vision of CCBs future, based on deep industry and market insight
  • Proven ability to drive change across a large organization
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; ability to continuously and boldly challenge the status quo
  • Strong collaboration and partnership focus to drive innovative change
  • High level of curiosity to continuously identify market trends and disruptions that impact CCB and/or its clients and ability to shift strategy to stay competitive
  • Strong execution and implementation ability
  • Exemplary leadership skills to engage diverse teams to partner and work together


  • 15-20 years of management experience in wholesale banking with exposure to the broader FinTech landscape
  • In depth knowledge of financial services products
  • Demonstrated success in managing internal and external partnerships and proven ability to negotiate
  • Prior P&L management, strong business acumen and analytical skills
  • Track record of successfully executing strategies and achieving positive results
