Co-Head of Price Risk & Control - Director

Citi Markets is looking for a Co-Head of Price Risk & Control in the 1st Line of Defence. The successful candidate will have significant market risk and valuations experience, ideally with a trading background, to co-lead an expanding function responsible for designing, implementing and operating an enhanced control framework for Price Risk across Markets.


The role includes enhancing risk identification and risk assessment processes across Markets, setting standards, enhancing and monitoring controls (including intraday market limits), issue identification and remediation. Successful execution will require partnership with traders, quants, Technology, Market Risk and Product Control, whilst also leading engagements with Internal Audit (IA) and regulators.


This role is also a key member of a broader 1LoD Risk & Control function directly supporting Markets as one of the major businesses within the Institutional Clients Group. The Citi Markets Risk & Control team is mandated to establish and maintain a robust 1LoD designed to minimize risk within the business including leading critical control remediation projects to mitigate risk in Trading, Financial Crimes and Conduct while ensuring strong governance to measure, monitor, manage and escalate key risks.


**Key Responsibilities:**


+ Co-lead design and implementation of the enhanced 1LoD Price Risk control framework, including governance & establishment of a functional operating model covering Market, Model and Valuation risk

+ Develop a global team of highly skilled individuals with diverse experience in related disciplines

+ Develop and execute remediation plans, contributing to Citis broader Price Risk program

+ Partner with Technology to deliver front-to-back technology infrastructure enhancements

+ Establish Price Risk standards and training across Markets, perform current state assessments and drive remediation

+ Co-ordinate markets-wide risk identification and risk assessments

+ Implement an ongoing testing and continuous monitoring framework, including lessons learned process

+ Deliver enhanced reporting, escalation and governance

+ Work with Business and 2nd Line Risk Management to support market risk violation assessments, governance and reporting

+ Ensure consistent ongoing application of controls and monitoring across Market leveraging MCA framework (Manager Control Assessments)

+ Partner with ICRM, ORM and Internal Audit to support and respond to independent assessments

+ Manage interactions with regulators, providing timely and accurate responses to associated queries

+ Professionally challenge the status-quo in order to drive strategic transformation


**Qualifications and Competencies:**


+ Bachelors degree required, Masters degree preferred

+ 15 years experience in Market Risk or similar 1LoD/2LoD risk management roles, ideally with trading background

+ Solid knowledge of 1LoD and 2LoD processes including Market Risk factor taxonomies, the trade value chain and consistent valuation

+ Solid track record in strategic design and implementation, delivering complex solutions

+ Strong organizational leadership and influencing skills

+ Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate strategic vision and collaboratively influence change

+ Works well under pressure and in tight deadlines
