Cloud Engineer - Army TENCAP Program - Ft. Belvoir, VA

Perspecta is seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer. As the Cloud Engineer, candidate will provide technical leadership in deployment, system administration, and maintenance of United States Army Geospatial Systems including virtualization and containerization of systems.


  • Candidate will be the system Administer for the VMWare VCenter environment, physical servers, and attached storage.
  • Will be building new Virtual Machines per customer specifications, apply required IA lockdown procedures, and coordinate with customers for deployment of custom applications as well as apply software and OS patches to physical and virtual machines to maintain IA compliance.
  • Candidate will assist other software developers with administration of web applications and services and work within AWS environment to build custom AMIs and configure for utilization on AWS Snowball Edge Devices.


Required skills/qualifications:

  • Final Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • BS in information technology, geospatial, or engineering field.
  • Security+ Certification.
  • Strong fundamental systems integration and IT infrastructure skill-sets and competencies. 8-10 years experience in Systems Administration/Integration.
  • Experience in process engineering, improvement, and process workflow
  • Expertise with VMWare Virtual Machine technology.
  • Working knowledge of various Operating Systems (Windows, Linux)
  • Familiarity with DoD IA/Cybersecurity best practices.
  • Expertise with AWS, EC2, and S3
  • Ability to establish effective relationships
  • Ability to develop and present effective technical presentations; must possess strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Self-Starter and self-motivator
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office applications, graphic / visual diagram editing, geospatial maps and imagery

Desired skills/qualifications:

  • Use of web service provider applications - ArcGIS Server, GeoServer, or other COTS or open source service applications
  • Database management systems, data modeling, and geospatial schemas
  • In depth understanding of GEOINT capabilities, geospatial forms of content, and how AGC develops and applies GEOINT to its mission.
  • Familiarity with the use and capabilities of web services, specifically Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) standards
  • Able to view and query geospatial information in a Geospatial Information System clients such as ArcMap, web-based map viewers, etc.
