Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Clinical & Translational Research Center has an opening for a Clinical Research Nurse Manager. The Clinical & Translational Research Center supports innovative, patient-oriented research across the Medical Center. Under general direction, the Clinical Research Nurse Manager collaborates with the CTRC Director and Associate Director in the training and management of the clinical research team, nursing and research personnel staff. Incumbents in this role have primary responsibility of research study oversight, including the daily supervision of staff involved with providing hands-on treatment, monitoring and follow-up clinical analysis of patients participating in clinical trials, study participant recruitment & enrollment, assessment/reassessment, patient education and other follow-up activities. The Clinical Research Nurse Manager is also responsible for general research program coordination, prepares data spreadsheets for Investigator and/or department, [RB submissions, completes CRFs (Clinical Research Forms), participates in grant proposal development, publication preparation, and presentations. The Clinical Research Nurse Manager will coordinate all CTRC- related aspects of clinical research projects, as agreed to, for Principal Investigators utilizing the CTRC, including logistical organization, data collection, and patient recruitment, with increased levels of responsibility as needed per protocol. Nurse acts as liaison between clinical investigators, pharmaceutical company representatives, research staff and volunteer research participants. Be able to provide clinical research nursing support, providing patient care in an outpatient or inpatient setting related to research protocol requirements (vitals, clinical assessments, EKG, infusions, sample collection, etc.). Be able to provide technical nursing support related to data collection of research protocols, including tissue sample collections (phlebotomy, pathological tissues, etc.), processing (spinning, triaging), and data collection reporting to principal investigators and/or pharmaceutical company representatives. Must have ability to maintain databases of research activity and ensure accuracy of data. Must be trained in Human Subjects Protections and oversee research subject compliance requirements per research protocol. May provide mobile nurse visits for research purposes to community outreach centers, mobile van, or other clinical research partner sites throughout Los Angeles County. Under direction of CTRC and CTSI leadership, may be involved in more global CTSI activities related to training and education of other staff members, within the CTRC and for investigative teams utilizing CTSI and/or CTRC services. Assists in special projects as assigned. Should be able to prioritize tasks, be detail minded, and be an effective communicator. Educational Requirements: Note: All External Hires must successfully pass a background check, a prohibited substance screening, and a pre-employment physical. \#LI-NursingLicense/Certification/Registration Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree, required. Master of Science Degree, preferred. California R.N. License required; Certification in ACRP or SOCRA required. Experience: Minimum of three years (3) of clinical nursing experience (ICU, CCU, MICU preferred). At least 5-8 years clinical research nursing experience, or 7-10 years clinical research nursing experience. Previous clinical research nurse management experience preferred. Demonstrated expertise/competency in area of research specialization. Demonstrated clinical competency. Proficient in the establishment and maintenance of intravenous access. Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care based on physical/social, education, safety, and related criteria appropriate to clinical research environment. Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with investigators, patients, their physicians and/or families; pharmaceutical company representatives, and other project personnel. Knowledge of data analyses and applicable computer applications (WORD, EXCEL, Webridge, REDCap, etc). Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, written and verbal, and have the ability to be consistently accurate, legible, and timely. Strong organizational skills to execute all aspects of clinical research, including maintaining research subject files, creating database spreadsheets, case report forms, and to be performed in an accurate and timely manner. Demonstrated commitment to quality service and care, teamwork, and CSMC goals. Must meet all of the nursing and Supervisor Competency requirements. Knowledge of human resource and administration policies and procedures. Physical Demands: (e.g., lifting, standing, walking) Must be able to lift 25 pounds. Must be able to stand and walk distances over the greater portion of the assigned shift. Must be able to handle multiple tasks, frequently with short time frames, prioritize and organize work and to complete assignments in a timely fashion.
