Position Summary

The University of Central Arkansas Clinical Instructor / Assistant / Associate Professor is responsible for teaching, research and service in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program and other areas as assigned. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. The position is a ten-month tenure track vs. non-tenure track appointment. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Teaching responsibilities include team-taught courses in human gross anatomy, human pathophysiology, neuroscience, and/or other clinical or foundational science areas commensurate with experience and qualification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Successful candidates will have established, or demonstrated the potential to develop, a program of scholarly productivity and will also be expected to be involved in service to the university and community. Numerous opportunities exist for collaborative research with department and local medical school faculty members, and with faculty members at other area institutions.

Required Education and/or Experience

Successful applicants will possess a doctoral degree in anatomy, neurobiology, physical therapy, or a related field, as well as experience, or the ability and interest to develop, in teaching human gross anatomy.

Preferred Education and/or Experience

Special consideration will be given to candidates who possess the experience in teaching neuroscience or human physiology or pathology.

License(s)/Certifications (Required or Preferred)

Special consideration will be given to candidates who possess one or more of the following:
Licensed, or eligible for licensure, as a physical therapist in Arkansas.
Board certification as a clinical specialist in physical therapy.
