Job Summary
The Design and Consulting Services Group of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented and experienced Transportation Engineer for immediate employment in the Transportation Group. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established education in Surface Transportation, planning and design. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects. The incumbent can look forward to supporting a wide range of planning and preliminary engineering projects for roadway, transit systems, managed lanes, bicycle and pedestrian facilities. The successful candidate will assist project engineers on various projects involving transportation plans, traffic safety and public involvement, and the overall preparation of CEQA and NEPA compliance documents. This position is for an engineer who will be part of a team that includes planners, project engineers, environmental scientists, landscape architects, and other support staff. Work location is flexible to San Jose, Oakland or Sacramento.
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS plus 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education with an emphasis in Transportation Engineering desired.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to discuss projects with co-workers, clients, regulatory agency staff, AECOM staff, and the public in meetings and at public events as well as write concise and readable technical reports and documents.
Valid drivers' license.
California PE license
Relevant experience in transportation planning and engineering for multimodal transportation projects.
Progressive design experience on Caltrans transportation projects.
Experience with FHWA, State, and local transportation planning, traffic and environmental processes.
Strong written communication skills and the ability to write concise and readable technical reports and documents
Must be highly self-motivated with the ability to successfully multi-task, perform detail oriented work, work independently, and demonstrate effective time management skills.
