Troubleshoots basic electronic circuits under close supervision; evaluates and resolves operational problems involving medical equipment at the request of clinical staff and department management; completes and records all required maintenance documentation; serves in on-call rotation as required by department manager. + Adjusts, calibrates, lubricates, performs operational verification, tests electronic safety, and other tasks to ensureoptimal performance of complex instrument systems. + Performs periodic maintenance to ensure biomedical instrumentation systems are functioning properly, providing accurateinformation to clinicians, and is safe for use. + Demonstrates thoroughness and attention to details. + Demonstrates the ability to manage changing workload priorities with moderate supervision. + Makes the best use of timeavailable. + Sets and achieves educational and job proficiency goals. + Demonstrates a basic level of electronics knowledge and troubleshooting skills. + Demonstrates an understanding of the operation and service routines for basic clinical electronic equipment. + Demonstrates the ability to understand and use basic biomedical test equipment. + Understands the technologys use model as part of the clinical workflow. + Communicates clearly with users in patient care areas during rounds or while investigating reported malfunctions. + Works with department management to identify and improve key skill areas necessary for career growth. + Considerable walking, and some moderate lifting, pushing, bending required. + Good hand/eye coordination for delicateelectronic repairs. + Possible exposure to ionizing radiation and chemicals, and chemical fumes. Protective clothing and safe work practicesare required when appropriate. **Requirements:** + **Associate of Science Degree in Electronic/Biomedical Electronics or related field; a combination of experience and education is acceptable. Prefer B.S. degree in Electrical/Biomedical Engineering.** + **C.B.E.T. certification; or specialty biomedical skill such as Imaging or Anesthesia equipment.** + **Minimum one (1) year experience as biomedical electronics technician and familiarity with a limited but growing range of patient care and/or laboratory equipment.** Cedars-Sinai is an EEO employer.
