JOB SUMMARY



Responsible for providing human resource (HR) and benefit-related services to all employees. Key responsibilities include benefits administration, benefit audits, system/record keeping, reporting, compliance and special projects under the direction of the Benefits & People Analytics Manager.



COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary for this position is $60,000-$70,000/year (Depending on Experience)

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



Administer all benefit offerings and eligibility according to governing Plan Documents and Summary Plan Descriptions

Provide newly hired eligible employees with insurance enrollment summaries/materials in a timely manner

Follow-up on on-line evidence of insurability applications to life insurance and disability provider(s) for approval/denial and properly account for approved coverage premiums in HRMS

Correspond with employees/managers to ensure pending documents are received

Ensure benefit deductions are accurately processed to payroll

Ensure qualifying event changes and related premium payments are properly documented and accounted for, including pay changes associated with STD and LTD premiums

Ensure carrier provides timely issuance of COBRA notices and manage undeliverable recipient notices; monitor COBRA coverage elections and premium payment activities

Actively participate in the implementation and administration of the employee self-service (ESS) portal and associated online benefit portals

Ensure proper set-up and administration of online benefit elections/changes/terminations

Ensure benefit carrier feeds are sent timely to account for:

New hire enrollments

Qualifying event changes

Part-time/full-time status changes

Address or marital status changes

HSA account set-up

Dependent aging-out status changes

Terminations

Ensure all enrollment/change processes associated with beneficiary designations are complete (Company provided life/AD&D, Optional life/AD&D, HSA and 401(k) accounts)

Ensure maximum utilization of the employee self-service (ESS) portal and identify opportunities to gain efficiencies and promote a paperless environment

Assist with and administer the annual benefit open enrollment processes, including employee communications and enrollment processes/guidelines

Partner closely with payroll and accounting personnel to ensure benefit related records/premiums are accurate and received timely; provide required reporting to accounting personnel for HSA funding

Partner closely with Benefits Manager to ensure coordination of employee-specific benefit premium payments during any unpaid leave of absence

Conduct ongoing benefit audits to ensure benefit records in HR system coincide with payroll records/deductions and benefit carrier records

Create and provide benefit related reports upon request, including reports to reconcile benefit invoices for review/approval by Benefits & People Analytics Manager

Explain benefit offerings, personnel policies and procedures to employees; provide high level customer service when fielding and resolving benefit related inquires

Create reports, analyze information, identify trends and provide recommendations for internal control improvements or process efficiency improvements

Immediately escalate all risk situations or special inquiries to the Benefits & People Analytics Manager or Head of HR

Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA standards at all times

Maintain ability to work overtime as required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS



Bachelors degree and a minimum of 3 years benefits administration experience

Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and working experience of HRIS applications

Sound understanding and proven ability to properly administer benefit-related compliance programs

Excellent organizational skills, high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, excellent critical thinking skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to prioritize among competing duties/projects

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including customer service and vendor relationship management skills

Experience working with a diverse workforce and multi-site environment

Flexible, dependable, confident and accountable

Desire to evolve and grow as organization evolves
