AWS Educate Program Manager - Employer Account Lead

Seattle, WA 98104

Do you want to help AWS€™ most strategic customers find the cloud talent they need to accelerate their Digital Transformation journey? AWS Educate is looking for an innovative, self-driven, business-savvy Account Lead to work with our Commercial and Public Sector customers worldwide in connecting qualified cloud skilled candidates to early-career cloud jobs. You literally get to change the lives of people around the world.

AWS Educate is part of Amazon Web Services Public Sector group and focuses on enabling students to get cloud skills that launch them into cloud careers. We do this by connecting employers to students through our academic programs and external economic and workforce development organizations. Launched in 2015, AWS Educate builds bold initiatives to accelerate the integration and application of Cloud content and tools into classrooms around the globe. AWS Educate works with employers, universities, colleges, primary & secondary schools €“ in collaboration to help Educate students launch into cloud careers.

The Employer Account Lead will be responsible for recruiting and managing AWS customers as employers who commit to interview with the intent to hire Educate students. The successful candidate will identify and create external business relationships with AWS customers in HR, career staffing and other persons involved in hiring early career cloud talent. It is especially important that the Account Lead can effectively navigate complex organizations and build relationships with business owners who may not have pre-existing engagement with AWS.

The Employer Account Lead will work across the entire Educate team and other Amazon groups to ensure that employer needs are deeply understood, that Educate programs represent those needs and that students are connected to employers and can get a cloud job as a result. To do this, the successful candidate will need to have a strong background in business development and/or account management with an ability to position and deliver ROI and value to our customers. Experience in HR, recruiting or related experience will be particularly helpful. Applying these skills both inside AWS and outside of the company is critical to ensuring Educate students have a pathway to cloud career employment with our most important AWS customers.

Finally, the successful candidate will be a self-starter who can innovate, move quickly, and not be constrained by how things have been done before. They will dive deep with AWS customers and develop best practices, and organize/facilitate outcome-based work sessions across external stakeholders and internal teams. They will thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with smart, motivated people who are passionate about cloud skills as a path to jobs of the future. Success will require identifying gaps in our business model, sharing evidence-based ideas on improvement and driving a strong bias for action to continually improve student and employer outcomes. The Employer Account Lead will directly influence how AWS engages holistically in addressing our customer€™s varied hiring, training and ongoing readiness needs.
