The Private Bank (PB) Risk Credit Portfolio Senior Analyst will support key credit risk activities for the North America Private Bank Independent Risk Organization. A key initial focus of the role will be the firm-wide initiative to map Citi's global regulatory inventory to controls across the firm. More specifically, the mapping of independent Risk-owned controls to Private Bank independent Risk Management's Managers Control Assessment process for North America. The role will also provide ongoing support in other risk governance activities related to policies & procedures and related regional and global projects. The ideal candidate will have a willingness to learn and grow within the organization, ability to adapt to a fast-faced environment, and strong writing skills and attention to detail.


  • Support the PB Independent Risk Organization for North America in the Regulatory Inventory Mapping firm-wide initiative and ensure mapping of independent Risk-owned controls is accurate, maintained and appropriate as required.
  • Develop a keen understanding of the relevant activity and controls executed by the Private Bank Independent Risk Management function.
  • Evaluate regulatory matters (policies, laws, and regulatory and supervisory requirements in relation to Citis Credit Risk activities), and how these are to be complied with through either Citi global, regional or local credit risk policies, standards and/or processes.
  • Collaborate with PB independent Risk Management staff to affirm proposed mapping and act as a Subject Matter Expert in articulating, to internal and external stakeholders, the coverage areas of the independent Risk Segment they support.
  • Assist with ad-hoc regulatory inquiries and/or examinations impacting PB Independent Risk, including presentations and materials.
  • Support PB Risk Management North America with activities related to the management of Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) Risks and the design and execution of the Managers Control Assessment (MCA) for the PB Risk North America organization.
  • Review and provide effective challenge to the MCA process performed by the first line of defense for the covered portfolio.
  • Develop working knowledge of industry and PB practices and standards in order to support understanding and completion of the above activities.
  • Understand the Credit Product offerings available within the covered portfolio.
  • Develop strong understanding and demonstrate ability to follow risk policies and procedures related to job function.
  • Provide support for specific risk governance projects across PB Risk North America and globally.


  • 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • BS or equivalent degree in a financial discipline
  • Knowledge of Citi Credit Risk policies or ability to quickly develop a working knowledge thereof
  • Experience managing financial regulatory, franchise and governance matters will be an advantage
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Power Point, Excel/VBA)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Excellent planning, project management and organizational skills and capability to handle multiple projects at one time
  • Self-starter, innovative and adaptive
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to produce a polished, high quality, accurate product
  • Tireless work ethic with ability to work well under pressure
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to navigate a complex organization and work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization, including regional and global partners


  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
