Description The Associate VP, Compliance ensures compliance with governmental requirements. The Associate VP, Compliance requires a in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across segments and/or enterprise-wide. Responsibilities As an integrated healthcare delivery company, Humana operates multiple lines of business across a complex, continuously evolving regulatory landscape. To be effective, we need a compliance program to proactively identify and manage risk. Humana is seeking enterprise compliance leaders who can develop and execute a strategy to ensure our processes and tools to prevent, detect and correct breakdowns are well-designed and effective, best practices are leveraged, and we provide a comprehensive view of enterprise compliance risk to leadership and the Board of Directors.As AVP of Group & Military (G&M) you will be aligned to Humanas Group & Military business segment and have oversight and accountability of the G&M compliance program, including but not limited to Group and Specialty products, Humanas Military business, and health/wellbeing products. This individual will be a key stakeholder in the effective implementation of the Corporate Compliance strategy and will be responsible for development of the specific strategy, models and plan to support the business in achieving their goals and objectives while mitigating the risk for the company. Responsibilities + Creates and executes annual compliance strategy for the Group and Military business + Ensures Humana maintains its license to operate by leveraging compliance expertise and understanding of regulatory bodies to advise business on risks/impacts + Understands how regulations connect and align to segment business strategy and assists business in determining best path based on applicable rules and regulations + Coordinates and participates in cross-functional teams comprised of stakeholders such as segment executive leadership, legal counsel, and external regulators such as Department of Defense, CMS and state Dept of Insurance to assist business in best path forward based on rules and regulations (i.e. in cases of entering new markets, creating new contracts, etc.). + Builds collaborative relationships with Group and Military business and regulators to successfully advocate for the Companys strategy + Guides business segment on audit processes and risks and proactively identifies compliance risks through timely, risk-based oversight and monitoring + Provides effective and appropriate compliance reporting on Group and Military compliance program operations and key Group and Military compliance risks to senior leadership, up to and including the Board of Directors + Develops staff and budgets for Group and Military Compliance. Required Qualifications + Executive communication and presence; will deliver information to executive level leadership and Board of Directors. + 5+ years Compliance experience in a complex, highly-regulated field + Excellent consultation and advisory skills + Demonstration of increasing responsibility, achievement through their career + 5+ years Leadership experience, including experience leading and influencing direct and cross-functional teams. + Bachelors Required Preferred Qualifications + MBA or JD + 5+ years of experience in Managed Care or comparable healthcare field Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 About Us Mission: At Humana, our cultural foundation is aligned to helping members achieve their best health by delivering personalized, simplified, whole-person healthcare experiences.
