Job Description

Yulista Support Services is seeking an Aviation Maintenance Mgr in anticipation of contract award.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONThe Aviation Maintenance Manager is responsible for the day to day activities of Aviation Modification and Maintenance on military aircraft. Reports directly to the Program Manager.


  • Responsible for acceptance and delivery of aircraft and related products.
  • Assign, direct, and train employees and Team Leads to accomplish the mission.
  • Responsible for ensuring aircraft related forms are being completed properly.
  • Ensure compliance with Flight and Ground Operating Procedures (FGOP).
  • Interface with customers and senior management personnel.
  • Responsible for evaluating the overall number of aircraft technicians and submitting recruitment requirements to the Program Manager, when necessary.
  • Responsible for assigned company equipment and GFE.
  • Coordinate hangar visits and control briefings for visitors, when required.
  • Monitor installation and modification schedules.
  • Respond to inquiries by the Government Ground Flight Representative, or equivalent.
  • Responsible for accurate input of aircraft data into electronic systems, workbooks, and logbooks.
  • Work with the FSO for badging, travel, and clearance issues.
  • Develop and implement advanced maintenance plans for assigned aircraft and equipment.
  • Designate, maintain, and monitor current maintenance repair priorities of aircraft to ensure compliance with Mission Readiness requirements
  • Authorize and assign aircraft maintenance, work priorities, and start/completion times for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of aircraft.
  • Monitor the progress of job completion by contractor personnel and contracted vendor services
  • Control maintenance on assigned aircraft and related support equipment. Maintains reporting aids depicting status of maintenance actions in progress, planned inspections, heavy maintenance checks and services, parts usage and requirements forecast.
  • Coordinate with logistical staff, vendors, and OEM for AOG and NMCS parts, adjustments to in shop work priorities, and verification of urgency of need designators.
  • Develop and monitor emergency plans for maintenance activities response to contingencies such as lightning, heavy winds, rain, and other environmental hazards.

This position has multiple direct reports and supervisory responsibilities. This position supervises 3 or more intermediate supervisors on a daily basis. Gives input, but relies on Program Manager on final decision making with duties including interviewing, hiring, terminating, performance reviews and performance corrections. This position has the authority to carry out assigned tasks.


  • Requires knowledge and experience performing maintenance on UH-60 A/L, UH-60 M, UV-18, DHC-8, CH-47F, C-12, RC-12, King Air 200 /350 aircraft. May require knowledge of and experience performing maintenance on 407, 206, AH 64 D, AH-64E, MC-130J, HC-130, C-130, C-26, EC-145, EC-135, LUH-72, UC-35 aircraft.
  • Must be able to analyze program risk and develop mitigation strategies
  • Must have experience and skills necessary to perform the following aircraft maintenance production control tasks: 1) Forecasting scheduled maintenance requirements; 2) establishment and collection of fleet production metrics; 3) execution of scheduled maintenance plans; 4) data collection and analysis reflecting fleet availability and reliability metrics; 5) scheduling, prioritizing and assigning daily shop maintenance actions
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills specifically using Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn additional computer skills or software programs.
  • Comprehensive understanding of variety of aircraft maintenance disciplines
  • Ability to read and interpret all aircraft instruments. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Use special test equipment and tools.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Interpersonal skills are necessary to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management and staff. Will also routinely interact with external contacts such as customers, vendors, suppliers, shipping companies, etc. Must represent Yulista Aviation, Inc. in a professional manner at all times.
  • Must be trustworthy will handle confidential information routinely
  • Must possess effective oral and technical written communication skills to clearly communicate information to others.
  • Ability to use general office equipment such as fax, phone, copier, scanner, printers, etc.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree desired. At least 20 years of experience in the field including 10 years of interpreting military specifications, methods and procedures from schematics, drawings and diagrams of same. High School diploma required.
  • A&P License, Inspector Aircraft (IA), FCC License, desired.
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field required.
  • Experience working on government aviation programs
  • Experience with aircraft quality assurance, modifications, and maintenance,
  • Production Control experience
  • Must have worked in a position utilizing FGOPs and SOPs
  • Working knowledge of ULSA, 738-751 TMs
  • Ability to pass a drug and background screening
  • Must be able to obtain a government Secret Level or higher security clearance
