The Automotive Industry Business Unit (IBU) is a part of SAPs Industries team, focused on helping customers run, grow, connect and transform in a digital world; we do this through the Intelligent Enterprise. The Automotive IBU team is responsible for articulating the business value of innovative technology for the Auto industry and for shaping the direction of our digital solutions to maximize their impact. The Automotive IBU is the global entity that represents SAP in the industry, driving sustainable business growth, customer satisfaction and solution completeness.

Key Areas of Responsibility and Tasks

This is Solution Specialist role will be responsible for supporting the overall vision of the Automotive IBU by applying her/his experience and business acumen to:

  • Identify industry trends that drive opportunity for SAP and act as a thought leader positioning SAP as a key player in the industry
  • Convert deep knowledge of industry requirements into relevant software solutions that fit the needs of our customers
  • Influence and provide direction to cross industry or Line of Business development teams to for solution realization.  This includes market definition, business case approval, solution definition, customer validation, development, and go- to-market.
  • Bring new and updated solutions to the market
  • Create engaging content for customers and the SAP sales executives highlighting the capabilities of SAP solutions for automotive
  • Support awareness, demand generation and go-to-market efforts at key events
  • Enhance existing skills continually and seek new areas for personal development.
  • Support customer meetings with appropriate preparation and with high-quality content and delivery
  • Identify and establish relationships with business partners that can further strengthen SAPs solution portfolio and address any white space areas.

Education and Qualifications

  • Exceptional communication skills.  Must be able to create and present engaging presentations to professional audiences.  Must be able to craft high-impact, industry and solution-focused blogs and social media posts. 
  • Strategic and entrepreneurial skills, ability to think rationally and creatively to solve complex problems
  • Passionate about applying new technologies to existing business problems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, proven track record of building strong relationships and credibility with cohorts, colleagues, customers, sales teams, developers, and other internal teams.
  • Ability to deliver and drive highly quality results in a dynamic virtual team environment.
  • Ability to deliver results while performing independently, with little direct management oversight.
  • Bachelors degree, preferably in Business or Engineering, in a related field such as Logistics, Procurement & Materials Management, Production Management, Finance, etc.

Work Experience

  • Experience in a Business or Innovation focused area within the Automotive/Mobility industries especially areas including
    • Manufacturing management
    • Supply Chain/Logistics
    • Procurement/Materials management
    • Forecasting/Planning
    • Finance (VIN profitability, product costing)
  • or Consulting experience in the areas of focus within the Automotive industry
  • or Product Management experience in the areas of focus for Automotive solutions
  • Prior SAP internship experience in Automotive is a plus
  • SAP Product knowledge within the areas of focus within the Automotive industry is a plus
