Major/Essential Functions

Bachelor's degree in related field required plus six years administrative or management experience. Additional education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Bachelor's degree Experience in a financial aid office. Five years progressively responsible management and supervisory experience including performance evaluations, coaching plans and intervention. Experience with the Ellucian Banner Financial Aid Module (or similar, integrated financial aid system). Experience with federal and state financial aid programs Experience with NSLDS (and/or NSC) and COD systems. Experience with public presentations and speaking (some evening and weekend responsibilities and activities are required). Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly. Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken and written word. Ability to identify solutions and to deal proactively with work-related problems. Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information. Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations. Ability to meet deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy, professionalism and a customer service orientation. Ability to work individually or as a team in a dynamic organization Ability to relate well with a diverse student population Ability to use tact, diplomacy and judgment in dealing with all customer

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a related area Six or more years’ experience in a financial aid office. Ten years progressively responsible management and supervisory experience including providing direction to subordinate supervisors and/or staff involving performance, salary actions and hiring related issues. Experience with the Ellucian Banner Financial Aid Module (or similar, integrated financial aid system), including system setup, report generation, testing and training. Experience with report generation software such as COGNOS. Experience with federal and state financial aid programs, implementing regulatory changes, monitoring requirements and following a strict adherence to regulations and applicable laws. In-depth experience with computerized financial aid procedures, i.e. setting up systems to correctly apply regulatory requirements, file exchanges, data exchanges, etc. Including experience with NSLDS (and/or NSC) and COD systems and system access and updating. In-depth experience with computerized financial aid procedures. Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly. Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken and written word. Ability to identify solutions and to deal proactively with work-related challenges. Ability to develop objectives to achieve long range goals Ability to meet deadlines and maintain a high level of accuracy, professionalism and a customer service orientation, often under stressful circumstances. Ability to work individually or as a team in a dynamic organization with diverse populations. Ability to use tact, diplomacy and judgment in dealing with all customers Basic knowledge of accounting and finance. Knowledge of computer applications (PC and mainframe) as they apply to student financial aid.
