Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a talented, self-motivated **Associate Systems Engineer** to join an exciting, complex, mission-focused hardware/software development project working with a team of qualified, diverse individuals based in **Melbourne, FL.**

**Essential Functions:**

The successful candidate will be able to:
Assist in managing an existing Cockpit Systems and Human Factors requirements database. This includes management of requirement allocations to lower level supplier specifications as well as uplinks to program level documents.

Provide database updates with Responsible Engineer (RE) input as requirements evolve and are refined.

Assist in the creation and database management of requirement verification methods and statements. A second level task includes updating of the linked supplier level technical specifications based on RE input.

The requirements are managed using a Rational DOORS (Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System) tool. Knowledge of the tool is desired as a pre-requisite, but training can be provided as necessary given the right candidate.

The candidate will possess organized, logical thought process skills, exhibit a strong work ethic, and possess the ability to acquire and retain the requisite training of the requirements and use of the DOORS database.


**Basic Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline
+ Active DoD Secret security clearance (investigation updated within last 5 years) .
+ Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain specific program access (contingency).

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Experience in requirements management (i.e. analysis, traceability, ability to write requirements verification statements)
+ Knowledge of the IBM Rational Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)
+ Strong verbal/written communication skills, along with the ability to work well individually or within a team environment.
+ Exceptional attention to detail.
+ Experience in the military aerospace development environment is preferred.
+ Understanding of common Systems Engineering processes and procedures
