As a critical member of the network business development and contracting team, this role is responsible for implementing and measuring how the organization continues to move to alternative value-based program structures, and maintains the current network and negotiation of FFS, & risk based contracts with hospital, ancillary and professional providers. Significant interaction with key business and clinical leadership and provider partners. Manages implementation, performance, and maintenance of designated value based programs. This includes performing industry and regulatory analysis that will be used to identify, evaluate, and develop recommendations to support value based contracting, planning, and execution.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic direction for and oversight of managed care network development activities specific to State Medicaid programs

  • Serves as a liaison with all levels of the organization and outside community

  • Drives performance of Medicaid network and value based contracts by driving joint provider and plan initiatives

  • Develops and manages programs to ensure value based payment contractual obligations including care delivery, quality, financial, compliance and legal are met

  • Partners across the matrix enterprise to implement value based contracts and drive value based contract performance with cross-functional partners including but not limited to Health Informatics, Pricing, Strategy, Quality and Clinical

  • Reviews contract performance against expectations and help guide future value based payment model direction to strengthen our value proposition, improve our competitive position, and meet goals and objectives

  • Keeps up to date on industry and patient consumer trends within the State and Federal insurance industry

  • Supports development of strategic summaries, positioning documents, and executive presentations that clearly and professionally communicate to senior level audiences

  • Analyzes industry trends, patient/ member needs, and internal performance to deliver data-driven insights to support actionable strategic direction, prioritization, and strategy communication

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field,or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in a network development role with emphasis on value based contracting
  • Strong knowledge of payment methodologies including fee for service and alternative risk arrangements
  • Knowledge of HEDIS quality program
  • Strong knowledge of systems of payment in the healthcare (MS-DRG, APC, Groupers, DMEPOS, RBRVS, etc)
  • Working knowledge Excel, Microsoft Teams, Office
  • Effective relationship building skills
  • You will be asked to perform this role in an office setting or other company location, however, may be required to work from home temporarily due to space limitations

Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders.
