We are looking for a Financial Accountant on a fixed term contract to support the Senior Accountant and assist with the Financial Accounting activities for UK Training Centre (UKTC). This individual will play a key role in implementing new processes and driving further efficiencies as we improve the service provided to stakeholders.

Core responsibilities will involve, but not be limited to:

As well as assisting with the transition of activity from Southampton, day to day responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Preparation of information for inclusion in management accounts for L3 CTS A&AT and APL entities
  • Manage overheads and serve central functions in respect of financial support
  • Oversee Payroll and relevant returns associated
  • SAP power user and system administration
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Oversee VAT returns, including preparation and quarterly payment, along with weekly reconciliation to ensure accuracy of SAP postings
  • Significant contribution to Audit process (both internal and external)
  • Complete Tax information packs to enable corporation tax calculations
  • Responsible for cash flow (net funds) forecasting, ensuring all funding requirements are met. Key driver of 17 week forecast process
  • Assist with all other statutory returns/reports for the UKTC entities - includes statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, SAO tax declarations and any other statutory returns required
  • Sarbanes Oxley/ICFR development and compliance
  • Responsible for various CTS/L3H monthly returns


    Essential skills and experience:

    • Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA with post qualification experience gained within large blue chip organizations, ideally US-listed
    • Statutory accounts and audit experience
    • Gravitas to challenge and support stakeholders of all levels across the business and challenge the status quo
    • Self-starter with ability to work on own initiative, spot issues early and liaise effectively with key stakeholders
    • Strong communicator that can tailor their approach to the audience and present with impact
    • Resilient, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines with a strong work ethic
    • Innovation, continuous improvement mentality
    • Advanced Excel and Powerpoint skills
    • Experience of SAP and HFM desirable
