This key position will be part of team supporting the senior management across financial & strategic planning and metrics monitoring. In addition, the FP&A Lead Analyst will be responsible for compiling Citi-wide financial/operational metrics and reporting for the CEO, CFO, Board of Directors, Regulators and other senior members of Citis management team. Further responsibilities include coordination with various business and functional units to complete reporting packages for the senior management team, collecting and analyzing data from various groups to create meaningful and effective presentations. This includes comparing the financial performance to internal and external (competitive) benchmarks. The position will also be fully engaged in the monthly close process, in partnership with key departments such as Corporate Reporting, Strategy, Treasury, Capital and Tax as well as provide full support to the wider FP&A GPO transformational effort.
Key responsibilities:
  • Lead the analysis of financials for all actuals and planning dimensions namely: Earnings, Outlooks, Forecasts, Annual Plan, CCAR, MYF projections and manage the preparation of key senior financial executive presentations for CEO/CFO, Operating Committee and Board of Directors
  • Provide insightful analytics and prepare Citis CFO for quarterly earnings.
  • Coordinate and calibrate the corporate calendar production of the annual budget in alignment with the strategy of the business
  • Lead ad-hoc analytics on themes that arise at senior managements request and/or through proactive research of potential issues
  • Create executive level program summaries from detailed progress updates and provide early indications of areas needing greater management focus
  • Liaise with various global functional and business planning groups to deepen Corporate FP&As analysis as well as manage various processes around actual and forward-looking financials


2+ years of relevant finance/business/accounting experience in financial services
B.S. in Economics, Finance, Accounting or related discipline
Excellent presentation skills; the ability to translate complex financial schedules into meaningful presentations is critical; demonstrated analytical skills including the ability to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data to draw conclusions and assist on decision making
-Must be able to present technical matters in a way that is meaningful to the audience
-Broad and deep understanding of accounting principles, investment, accrual products and corporate finance concepts
-Flexibility to be effective and persuasive with all levels of management
-Level-headed in a crisis
-Strong interpersonal skills. Must have a balance of assertiveness and discretion to be a credible and sought after resource
-Must have the confidence to stand up to pressure and the credibility to influence others
-Ability to build key relationships with finance and other professionals
-Ability to influence people and empower team members to be proactive and focused on partnerships and results
-Highly motivated, participative team player with a change agent mentality that can provide leadership
