To support our Digital Solutions / Software Business Unit and Water Platform IT Cybersecurity, we are looking for a full-time

Product / Application Security Architect

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Information Security, the Product Security Architect is responsible for the data privacy and security of Hach€™s software products.  This role will collaborate with R&D and BU resources to ensure we are implementing security best practices that protect our customers€™ data and meet relevant regulatory compliance requirements.  The role will work closely with members from across Hach and the entire Danaher organization to ensure protection from cyber threats and adhere with corporate policies and industry best practices. The Architect is responsible for driving product security initiatives that meet our customers€™ security expectations and safeguard our brand reputation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Builds People, Teams & Organizations

  • Leads the from the front in the implementation of security best practices
  • Mentors developers on designing for security and privacy within our applications
  • Serves as the cybersecurity advisor to IT, R&D and BU resources
  • Partners with the Water Quality Platform (WQP) Sr. Manager, Information Security, the VP/GM of Digital Solutions and the Danaher cybersecurity team on product security initiatives and best practices
  • Maintains focus on security to continue to grow the Software BU and protect the Hach brand
  • Builds practices and procedures designed to delivery security by design as a core principle in software development

    Charts the course

    • Oversees and incorporate changes in the cyber threat landscape into product designs
    • Track progress of security initiatives and escalate appropriately
    • Identifies and maintains target cybersecurity posture for cloud applications
    • Supports incident response planning and execution
    • Incorporates security validation and vulnerability identification into product development
    • Communicates direction and roadmap for achieving security by design
    • Performs cybersecurity audits, monitoring and metrics reporting
    • Ensures penetration testing, monitoring and issue resolution
    • Partners on data privacy compliance of software products
    • Leads and perform threat modeling to prioritize investments and remediation activities

      Strategy

      • Defines product security by design direction and roadmap based on industry frameworks that support business objectives
      • Oversees and manages cyber risk reduction within product portfolio
      • Leads the implementation of strategic cybersecurity initiatives to support the growth of the Software BU
      • Designs and leads incident response plans and playbooks
      • Responsible for software and IoT cybersecurity
      • Detect, identify and remediate cybersecurity threats to protect the Hach brand

        RELATIONSHIPS

        • Reports to the Water Platform Sr. Manager, Information Security
        • No direct reports and dotted line responsibility to the WQP Sr. Manager, Information Security
        • Collaborates with R&D and BU resources on cybersecurity initiatives

           QUALIFICATIONS

          • BA or BS degree in Cybersecurity or Computer Science or equivalent work experience
          • 3+ years proven experience effectively working in a product security architect role with previous experience as application developer
          • Strong knowledge of threat detection, identification and remediation
          • Strong knowledge of cloud and IoT security best practices and relevant frameworks
          • Strong communication and collaboration skills
          • Experience as a security subject matter expert
          • Great attitude and work ethic
          • Experience in global, matrix organization a plus
          • Ability to effectively partner and influence senior level cross-functional teams
          • Ability to drive alignment and trade-off decisions across the organization
          • Ability to deal with conflict, and manage expectations
          • Ability to work independently and solve complex problems
          • Excellent oral and written communication skills
          • Accepts and embraces a stretch culture environment with a positive can-do attitude
          • Ability to partner with stakeholders and lead through influence

            LOCATIONS

            • US: Loveland, Colorado; Bellevue, Washington; Hemet, California; Glen Allen or Sterling, Virginia
            • Germany: Duesseldorf or Berlin
