Your Role and Responsibilities
a) Transition
Initial hardware and software integration, technical documentation, setup of knowledge base
Customer/project specific technical design and implementation, e. g. system hardening, security policies, IMD and migration procedures
Plan, prepare and conduct technical training for command center teams regarding the technical and operational aspects of the ATM and self-service-terminal solution (e.g. architecture, security aspects, interfaces, systems management, release and deployment management)
Support hiring process for command center personnel
b) Hardware and Software Integration
Release Management:
Integration of new or changes ATM hardware components/models
Integration of new or changed ATM (security) software components or configurations
Integration of updated XFS platform software/drivers
Integration of operating system updates and releases
Maintenance of operating system hardening
Creation and maintenance of handbook/manuals for field service engineers and help desk engineers
Deployment Management
Creation and maintenance of the image/software package for ATM (re)installations and the corresponding IMAC (here just IMD) processes
Creation, maintenance and deployment of software packages for ATM updates/upgrades
Implement, maintain and monitor technical interfaces of the ATM solutions (authorization, master data management, data provisioning etc.)
c) ATM Management
Recommend, validate and implement changes to monitoring rules/Software, tools, procedures, maintenance packages and processes
Access Management for ATM software: Maintain user role and groups
Create, maintain and monitor inventory scan jobs
Create and maintains software artefacts for software distribution
Create, maintain and monitor software distribution jobs
Create and maintain monitoring configuration and event management rule base
d) ATM Security - create and maintain security policies
e) Request Fulfillment
Process design and implementation
Automation and tooling
f) Testing
Test management (specification and planning if test cases, test documentation, etc.) and conduction component and integration tests
Support Test Management/Testing of the customers integration and user acceptance tests
g) General responsibilities
Ensuring stable operation and operational quality for the Customer with proper hardware and software integration
Identify project requirements, developing solution delivery, which may include vendors and subcontractors.
Collaborates with others to provide services in carrying out assigned duties.
May be involved in new or complex designs, layouts, products, devices, components, methods or procedures.
Ability to articulate and compare alternative approaches.
Negotiation with specified objectives with client team is required.
Works on professional level projects with minimal guidance from more experienced individuals.
Performs assigned technical tasks including study, limited programming, and product installation.
Must possess a strong operational knowledge of applicable operating systems, application programs, system diagnostics and remote support structure.
Provides technical guidance and assistance to others; may serve as lead technical advisor for the command center team.
Provide remote technical support assistance for technical escalations to Customers and IBM technical personnel.
Assists in the identification of new IT services opportunities.
Perform problem determination and problem source identification utilizing tools, procedures, maintenance packages and processes.
Contribute to maintain and improve Customer satisfaction.
Articulates IBMs service delivery and technical support methodology.
Timely response and resolution of technical escalations within agreed service levels.
Develop technical skills to ensure highest standards of support capability.
Participation in a Standby/out of hours Rota will be mandatory at some point.
Analysis and resolution of ATM software, ATM management solution (e.g. software distribution), ATM security solution, middleware and corresponding IT infrastructure related problems
Responsible for the ownership and technical resolution of a customer problem
Responsible for developing and running training programs for other teams regarding the technical and operational aspects of the ATM and self-service-terminal solution
Responsible for on-going knowledge analysis and submission to KBS solutions


Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Dynamic individual able to work in a high volume busy and sometime high-pressure environment as part of a shifted resource model
  • Competent technically and practically on hardware and software integration
  • Experience in SW distribution including software package creation, scripting, download, update, patching, remote fixes etc
  • Experience of remote tools for monitoring/remote fix of HW/SW infrastructure
  • Ability to own complex issues and timely resolve problems whilst informing all relevant parties including escalation where required to L2/3 including vendor software support team in English
  • Able to communicate professionally with clients, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Working knowledge of J2EE middleware
  • Analytical mind capable of logical PD process
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to learn through self-study
  • Good team working skills and ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Fluent German and English in speaking and writing

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Operational knowledge of ATM management and monitoring Operations/Software
  • Operational knowledge of ATM Hardware platforms
  • Operational knowledge of ATM SW and security solutions
  • Knowledge of ATM configuration options, Networking connectivity and typical monitoring fault finding
  • Experience in working in remote support center in existing ATM technical support role
  • Existing experience in ATM Service and Support
  • Ability to diagnose and fix complex ATM software issues down to component level
