Our data ML Development & Engineering team is helping lead the transformation of our ExtraCare program into a world-class personalization and loyalty program. With over 10,000 Retail locations and +70M active ExtraCare members this is a top initiative within the company and we have a team dedicated to recruiting the best talent in the world to help propel us to this goal. The company has invested in state-of-the-art cloud infrastructure and scaling of our loyalty program, now we are focused on optimizing how we communicate with our customers. We are looking for the best and brightest to add to our existing Analytics team and help deliver on this initiative.


Specifically, you will collaborate with key stakeholders to define business rules and optimization functions and then partner ML Engineers and Developers to design, build and optimize modules that will power our Personalization Engine. You will be responsible for working with Data Engineer and Dev Ops team to integrate solutions into the production pipeline. These solutions will be critical as CVS continues on its journey to deliver our customers 1:1 personalized experiences through multiple channels to drive increased reach, relevance and rewards for our customers.

Making analytics faster, more insightful, and more efficient by building, architecting solutions that leverage a next-generation Big Data Machine Learning framework. Rapidly develop prototypes and proof of concepts for the selected solutions, and implementing complex big data projects

Connect business context and perspective to define model objective functions, business rules and prioritization to build optimization functions that result in personalized recommendations for our customers

Applying an analytic mindset to collecting, parsing, managing, and automating data feedback loops in support of business innovation


**Required Qualifications**

5+ years of professional experience and business analytics working along-side ML Engineers and Developers to build applications

Hands-on experience with big data platforms including Hadoop (preferably Azure or AWS) and Spark as well as experience with traditional RDBMS (e.g. Teradata, Oracle)

Experience with frameworks for either Machine Learning or NLP (Scikit-Learn, SpaCy, Pytorch, Spark NLP)

Proficiency in the following programming languages: PySpark, Python, shell scripting, SQL (preferably Teradata and PL/SQL syntax) and Hive, Pig, Java, or Scala

Ability to design and build a framework to optimize the output of multiple ML models

Knowledge of tools to automate CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GIT, Control-M)

Must be able to translate analytical problems into structured programs (in PySpark or Scala)

Strong coursework/experience in programming and working with complex datasets is required

Exceptional critical thinking skills required


**Preferred Qualifications**

Previous retail / healthcare experience and domain knowledge

Experience working via an agile, sprint-based working style

Proven ability to successfully balance near-term results (e.g., ability to design and execute on a MVP model), with long-term goals


**Education**

B.S. in Computer Science, Math, Physics or any other related quantitative programs. MS preferred.
