**Job Description** : **AML Compliance Risk Management, Global Consumer Bank**

**Job Purpose:**

The role of the SVP, AML Compliance Risk Management (ACRM), Global Consumer Bank (GCB) APAC reports to the Director, GCB ACRM APAC and is responsible to manage compliance with GCBs AML program in APAC & EMEA, promote early engagement with key stakeholders, lead AML risk assessment discussions, and provide advice and credible challenge on BAU and control and monitoring plans for GCB business activities. The role requires the SVP to act as key AML point of contact for GCB, in assessing risk and identifying applicable control and business partners for awareness and review (i.e., KYC/Sanctions/Monitoring and Investigations/LoB AML.)

The SVP will also be required to perform targeted risk reviews of GCB outside of the Internal Audit and Compliance Assurance examinations scope to identify potential and/or previously unknown risks.

**Job Background/context:**

The role supports the Director, GCB ACRM APAC in performing activities across the enterprise (APAC and EMEA) and includes the following:

Manage AML-related inquiries, including issue escalations from GCB countries, and provide BAU guidance to Country AML and global functions, including reviewing GCB APAC Programs and procedures and other due diligence activities; Continue to enhance business relationships, both regionally and globally, through participation in relevant meetings and projects; Manage the Monthly AMLCO Forum and OCC Governance Meeting submissions; Track compliance against new local regulations across the region; Conduct targeted deep dives on customers, customer types, geographies, and transaction flows based on information derived from IA, CA, regulatory or business sources; Develop AML-related Corrective Action Plans for IA, CA, and regulatory issues; Advise, perform, or review AML MCAs activities; Lead or support projects across the two regions; Review, conduct, and manage trainings; Review outliers or metrics that failed the threshold, investigate the root cause, provide CAP and follow-ups.

**Key Responsibilities;**

+ Oversee initiatives from development through successful implementation, including providing credible challenge, under the guidance of the Directors and ACRM Senior Management.

+ Serve as AML contact point and representative for internal working groups and governance forums.

+ Communicate with and partner with AML, Business, Legal, and Technology workstream leadership in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation.

+ Manage and coordinate responses/deliverables concerning GCB APAC AML involving other AML groups.

+ Serve as an AML subject matter expert, handling Business inquiries and developing action plans to address them, and assisting with the preparation and dissemination of communications.

+ Enhance current AML processes, such as monitoring and tracking tools, and facilitate governance improvements to optimize efficiency and productivity.

+ Support the Directors in managing and overseeing the management of the GCB AML program in APAC & EMEA and reporting key matters to senior AML and Business leadership.

+ Serve as liaison between workgroup leaders, executives, and other senior leaders regarding initiative risks and controls, mitigants, and updates.

+ Consult with stakeholders to solve system issues/problems through in-depth evaluation of business processes, systems and industry standards and recommend solutions.

+ Identify and communicate risks and impacts, considering business implications of the application of technology and process changes to the current business and AML environment.

+ Perform targeted risk reviews to assess compliance with AML commitments.

As part of the broader GCB AML management team, the successful candidate will undertake a range of tasks, many of which entail direct and regular interactions with senior stakeholders and require strong influencing and collaboration skills and business understanding. The role also presents the opportunity for the successful candidate to become involved in the assessment of the risks associated with GCB and the development of controls to mitigate those risks, and the understanding the regulatory, industry, and internal environments impacting the implementation of new strategies.

**Person Specification**

**Knowledge/Experience** :

+ The role requires an individual who has a broad knowledge of AML regulatory matters including a strong understanding of key AML and reputational risks.

+ The candidate should have a well-rounded understanding of the components of an AML program, including Know Your Customer and Client Identification Program, Monitoring and Investigation, and Risk Assessment.

+ The candidate should have an understanding of GCB.

**Skills** **:**

+ The ability to understand complex AML risk and operational issues and develop practical and effective solutions.

+ Management of complex and/or operational functions including a strong understanding of the regulatory and compliance environment impacting GCB business strategies.

+ The ability to handle multiple projects associated with a wide array of stakeholders..

**Qualifications** **:**

+ Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.

+ Strong knowledge of AML laws and regulations

+ Strong knowledge of emerging industry and regulatory trends.

+ Minimum 12 years working experience preferred

**Competencies** **:**

+ Excellent judgment and assessment skills; proactively employs personal curiosity to identify risks and research potential controls and mitigants

+ Well-developed risk management, organizational, communication, negotiating and influencing skills.

+ Ability to problem solve and think strategically and tactically and to manage multiple deadlines across competing priorities.
