Job Description

Tunista Services is seeking an Alternate Project Manager. This position is contingent upon award of contract.

The Alternate Project Manager (APM) serves as the Deputy for the Project Manager at Fort Gordon, GA. The APM is responsible for supporting the PM in the overall management of the Fort Gordon Operations and Maintenance Support contract for the Department of Public Works at Fort Gordon, GA. The APM assists the PM in developing strategies to manage contract operations, and cultivating and maintaining positive business relationships with clients and customers. The APM supports the PM in providing leadership and strategic direction for managing and sustaining services, and managing complex programs/projects. The APM assumes the role of the PM during the absence of the primary.

Support the overall management and operations of the Base Operations Support Services for the Fort Gordon Department of Public Works division, to include the authority to act in all project quality control, Safety, and Environmental issues
Support the direction of Facility Maintenance operations, Facility Engineering Services, Material Management and Warehouse Operations
Direct contract financial management activities, ensuring invoices and properly handled, to include timely submission to Corporate HQs for payment
Ensure that procedures and processes initiated and performed by project employees are done in accordance with established safety and environmental procedures
Coordinate and lead project site meetings involving all managers and supervisors
Oversee all government contract requirements to ensure project design, material, and labor cost projections are accurate and submitted within prescribed timeframes
Ensure service vendors complete scheduled maintenance activities within prescribed timeframes
Oversee project acquisition activities to ensure purchased material, equipment, and general supplies are obtained by approved vendors
Organize and maintain project documentation for the entire DPW operation and provide appropriately to the client.
Oversee daily project reporting including timekeeping, environmental and permit compliance, and daily reports
Maintain effective communication with union officials, government leadership, customers, and project participants
Implement company policies for attendance, overtime, safety, environmental compliance, timekeeping and budgetary requirements

Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with employees, business partners, and clients via written and verbal communication method.
Ability to visualize, articulate, and solve complex problems and concepts, both logical and interpersonal, and make decisions based on available information. Ability to use judgment and discretion
Knowledge of job costing and accounting procedures
Knowledge of computer based construction and scheduling programs
Ability to handle stressful situations and effectively plan and organize duties to meet deadlines
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Ability to work with concentration, accuracy, and attention to detail
Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings, including host preparation meetings
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to interpret and communicate project plans and drawings.
Adequate knowledge of database software, spreadsheet software, scheduling software, job costing software and word processing software
Ability to pass a drug, driving, and security screening.

Bachelor of Science degree required; Engineering or Architectural degree preferred
15 years experience in managing base operations support functions
Familiarity with Army cost and software data programs
Ability to pass a drug, driving and background screening
