Job Title: Account Manager - Production Chemicals, Midwest

The Account Manager is part of Doe & Ingalls, a Thermo Fisher Scientific brand, and is an extension of our biopharmaceutical customers’ supply chain management team, offering customers a range of cGMP raw materials and supply chain solutions that can dramatically improve development and manufacturing operations. We understand the minor and major implications that affect the biopharmaceutical production chemical and raw material space that can negatively impact our customer’s success. Ultimately, we help our customers’ mitigate risk, increase productivity, reduce costs, and achieve the highest quality standards so they can focus on what matters most – developing and manufacturing life changing therapeutics.

The Account Manager is responsible for sales, account management, and developing new business for the Life Sciences business segment product lines and/or services throughout a specified territory.
Remotely based in IL, MO or OH.

What will you do?

  • Manage and grow existing accounts with manufacturers by selling process chemicals and associated chemical management services following cGMP standards.
  • Develop new business at existing accounts, develop a pipeline and close business with prospective customers.
  • Build customer relationships that enhance our position and profitability.
  • Work with manufacturer sales representatives and develop key strategic pipeline targets.
  • Identify business opportunities in new markets consistent with Life Sciences and Advanced Technology business segment product lines and/or services.
  • Help identify new products, services, and vendors to expand product portfolio.
  • Responsible for meeting individual personal objectives and revenue goals for assigned territory.
  • Increase engagement and success with services and supply agreements to secure business.
  • Increase account base of territory for new target customers.
  • Routinely engage with cross functional teams within Thermo Fisher.
How will you get here?
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry or equivalent (Masters degree preferred).
  • 3+ years of field sales experience.
  • Demonstrated sustained success in territory and sustained success of pipeline management as well as the ability to shorten and improve the selling cycle.
  • A strong understanding of chemistry and the Life Science industry to be able to serve as a resource for our clients and effectively present information to engineers, managers and purchasing agents/managers.
  • Must demonstrate a positive approach to collaboration and problem solving, both internally, and in customer engagements.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain strong relationships with accounts within the territory.
  • Strong analytical skills needed to analyze territory sales data and technical information.
  • Requires travel of up to 40% throughout territory.
