General Summary StatementProvided excellent customer service skills to surgical patients and their families. Assumes responsibility for providing safe and efficient transportation of the surgical patient. Provides support service to the surgical team with environmental cleaning, supply & equipment procurement. Assists with positioning and skin preps of the surgical patients. Delivers specimens to the pathology department or the lab-receiving desk. Under the direction of an anesthesia provider, supports the anesthesia staff. Provides patient care under the direction and supervision of a Registered NurseEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPatient Care Responsibilities¢\tDemonstrates a cheerful friendly manner while on duty.¢\tPositions patients correctly, aligns and supports torso and limbs as directed and per patient comfort.¢\tEnsures proper patient identification with the patient ID bracelet in place. Checks ID bracelet, asks patients name and date of birth and initials ACC Admission pre procedure record or the Pre op checklist for floor patients.¢\tUses proper body mechanics when transferring patient, using equipment and performing job responsibilities.¢\tAnticipates the need for equipment and supplies during the day, acquires the equipment for cases and decontaminates and stores equipment post operatively.¢\tAssists nursing staff with proper setup of patient care equipment, i.e. video carts, fracture table, shoulder equipment, urology table, etc.¢\tReports any malfunctions of equipment to supervisory staff.¢\tAssists circulating nurse with positioning and /or prepping of patient.¢\tPerforms QA on the labeling and documentation of specimens. Delivers the specimens to the designated lab areas in the required time frame. Obtains blood from the blood bank and delivers to designated patient in OR as needed.

Education Training and Experience\nHigh School diploma or equivalent. \nBasic computer skills: keyboard, mouse use. Ability to use email, and internet. \nAbility to successfully complete on the job training for CCH computer programs.\nAbility to speak, read, write and understand English.\nMaintains CPR, TST and Education on the Go within TCCH deadlines.\n\nLicensure/Certification \nCPR certification required.\n\nMust meet specialty competency requirements\nSpecimen delivery\nCysto set up\nBeach chair set up\nFracture table set up\nPatient Care Documentation Procedures’\n\n\nWork Environment and Hazards\nRisk exposure to potentially hazardous materials and body fluids. May become involved in crisis situations. Ability to assist and position patient, transfer from bed to wheel chair/stretcher. Physically demanding position (see ADA Form). \n\nWork Contact Group\nHospital personnel, physicians, patients, and their families.
