The supervisor is responsible for ensuring annual competencies/appraisals, required certifications, and ongoing continuing education and support for respiratory care practitioners (RCP) under their direct report. Duties include daily supervision of respiratory care personnel, coordination of daily operations, and professional communication with the health care team to facilitate the coordination of care across the continuum. Acts in the absentia of the Associate Director or Director as needed. Supervisor is accountable for expected knowledge, skills and competencies for neonate to geriatric patients. The supervisor must meet all Level IV RRT behaviors/skills and be able to function in staff role as needed.

Graduate of Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) accredited Respiratory Care program. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. Minimum five - year’s clinical experience. Leadership experience preferred. Specialty credentials in practice area preferred. eg. ACCS, NPS, AE-C, Trauma specialty. Experience in neonatal care is preferred.\n\nState of Pennsylvania Respiratory Care License.\nRegistered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). State of PA license and all NBRC credentials are to be active and maintained per the rules and regulations of the State of PA and the NBRC continuing competency requirements.\nAmerican Heart Association CPR for Professional Rescuers. ACLS (Critical Care-primary) recommended and NRP certification required ICN staff. AARC membership required.
