Position Summary:


The Vice President of Global Sales is responsible for directing, developing and implementing sales strategies aligned with the Company’s go-to-market strategy. Working closely with the organization’s senior leadership team, marketing group, and consultative services, the role will focus on driving both domestic and international sales growth. The VP of Global Sales will report to the President and Chief Executive Officer. This role requires extensive knowledge of the sales cycle and all of its related activities, ranging from contract negotiation to effective prospecting across a dynamic customer base. With responsibility for the ongoing support and development of a talented sales team, this role will contribute significantly to the continued success of both Des-Case and its valued partners throughout the world. 



Job Responsibilities: 


  • Possess a solid knowledge of selling in the manufacturing domain with the command of selling to distribution, as demonstrated by a multi-year track record of selling internationally while leading a sales team.

  • Foster a culture of high customer service in all levels of relationship management.

  • Serve as a key brand ambassador for Des-Case while growing and nurturing relationships across a broad international customer base.

  • Gain an in depth understanding of both Des-Case products and client products so completely that s/he is knowledgeable of how both Des-Case and partner organizations function organizationally and competitively.  

  • Attend consistently and frequently to all key customer relationships by staying abreast of their industry, their issues, client constraints and client opportunities.

  • Maintain communication with customers by developing close business relationships in order to monitor market conditions, industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies.  

  • Establish relationships with foreign governmental officials and decision makers to promote trade relations, distribution, and business development opportunities in order to achieve maximum sales volume and profit potential.

  • Conduct economic and commercial surveys in foreign countries to identify markets for products and services.

  • Review international market analyses to best determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates.

  • Monitor the market condition of competing products, services, and organizations by analysis of ongoing market data and other factors.

  • Lead competitively valued proposals and highly targeted sales campaigns while operating within established budgetary and business guidelines.

  • Oversee and approve budget planning and sales forecasting for both strategic initiatives and the tactical requirements of a growing sales force.

  • Develop contract strategy and negotiate contracts in accordance with Company standards and business requirements.  

  • Advise the Company on international business development opportunities related to current/emerging local, national, and international legislation affecting international sales.

  • Function as a team leader and team player by setting the tone with drive and passion; both of which result in the necessary enthusiasm to understand and successfully navigate fast-moving, ever-changing markets.  

  • Lead, train, and develop a successful sales organization that is built with excellent leadership, as best indicted by employee personal growth and strong business performance. 

  • Be an expert on Company culture and Company core competencies.



Background & Other (preferred): 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher. MBA is preferred.    
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a senior management position.
  • Minimum of 7 years of global sales leadership as the primary owner of the sales operations budget.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working in the industrial arena.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience working with manufacturers.
  • Previous work experience involving lubrication, filtration, manufacturing, fluid power specialists, power generation, or similar industry is preferred.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) with excellent presentation skills.
  • High analytical competency is a requirement given the complexity of business plan execution for any international business endeavor.
  • Travel up to 75% first two years.
