The Village of Little Chute, Wisconsin is currently recruiting for two Engineering Internship opportunities for the summer of 2018. These production-oriented positions offer excellent "real world" work experience for future engineering or engineering technology graduates. The Village of Little Chute is conveniently located in the heart of the Fox River Valley with a population of approximately 11,000 residents.

Position Summary:   

Engineering Interns are responsible for performing technical and/or engineering support duties related to the functions of the transportation systems and public utilities in such areas as project development, construction, design, traffic, systems planning and operations, hydraulics, structures, maintenance and other related programs.  The range of duties provides an opportunity to apply basic engineering principles in a work environment! 

Internship positions are for the full summer and if a student is local through the school year some part-time work may be available.  Selected students are expected to be available during the full summer months (June-August).

Pay for engineering internship positions is based on the number of credits (which includes spring 2018 coursework) earned: 

  • 6-23 credits: $11.25/hour
  • 24-53 credits: $12.50/hour  
  • 54-85 credits: $13.75/hour
  • 86+ credits: $15.00/hour      

Engineering Program Eligibility Requirements 

Eligible students must meet the following requirements to be considered for a Village of Little Chute Engineering Internship: 

  • Student must carry a minimum of 6 credits during their spring 2018 semester
  • Student must have a good academic standing
  • Student must be enrolled in a 2 or 4-year degree program with a Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Masters or Doctoral status as of Fall 2018.

Note: Junior and Senior level students must be enrolled in a civil engineering related program (e.g. environmental, structural, civil, geotechnical, transportation, environmental/water resources, material science, geological, construction etc.). Freshman and sophomore students may be pursuing a 2-year associate’s degree program in Civil Engineering Technology or any 4-year engineering program.
