**Job Description:**

**Position Overview**

We are designing the next generation of the Siemens e-commerce platform, and are looking for someone with a passionate customer focus, a strong sense of ownership and an ability to iterate quickly in an agile environment. If you are driven to deliver exceptional results through continuous improvement and have a Customer First attitude, we want you on our team.

We need a strong, front-end web UI Developer with experience creating a seamless bridge between the front-end design and the back-end. You will be responsible for development of pages with good visual design from standard inputs such as wireframes, style guides, etc. You will develop the HTML/CSS/JS for the back-end developers to convert into the visual elements of the online storefront. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills for working with business sponsors, analysts, project managers, content editors and CMS developers. You will use your knowledge of best practices in UI design and development to bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.


Utilize existing UX deliverables such as wireframes, storyboards and style guides, to help plan, create and present user interface designs

Make iterative changes to existing designs and code based on customer and business feedback

Create comps, if needed, to present to stakeholders for approval on changes to store pages using tools like Adobe Photoshop, Invision, Axure **,** etc.

Develop HTML/CSS/JS of user-facing features for online storefront as per design components and information architecture

Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs

Optimize application and store pages for maximum speed and scalability

Ensure best practices are adhered to with client-side validation before submission to back-end

Utilize the results from usability testing to help identify and fix UI issues, and gather real-world intelligence from target users

Collaborate with business and IT decision-makers to discuss user interface requirements and brainstorm UI ideas

Create and maintain a repository of common assets and reusable code

Follow best practices and standards for accessibility and cross-browser compatibility

Wield knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices to develop search-friendly websites and interfaces

**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education and Experience:**

Expertise using HTML5, CSS3, SASS, XML, XSL, jQuery, JavaScript, and other common JavaScript frameworks and user experience skills

Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery

Good understanding of advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as AngularJS, KnockoutJS, BackboneJS, ReactJS, DurandalJS, etc.

Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX

Familiarity and extensive experience with popular Content Management Systems (CMS) (preferably SDL Tridion)

Strong focus on user experience and simple design solutions

Strong ability to learn and apply established style guides/pattern guides to design and development

Proficiency with design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, etc.)

Working knowledge of UX wireframe/prototyping software (such as Axure)

Excellent understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them

Proficiency with code versioning tools, such as Git/Mercurial/SVN

Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that applications adhere to them

Has awareness of the state of the art and assess new trends and emerging technologies in and related to UI design and development

Can use responsive web design to create applications that automatically conform to multiple screen sizes/devices using frameworks such as Foundation or Bootstrap

Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, evaluate alternatives and develop processes and tools as needed to support the organization

Strong analytical skills and technical aptitude, with an ability to think both strategically and creatively

Capacity for self-motivation, independent initiative and creative problem-solving

Excellent communication skills with positive energy

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Web Development, Human-Computer Interaction, Mobile Computing, Graphic Design, Software Engineering or a related field of study

5-7 years of experience in UI development

Ability to travel

**Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**

Experience working in Agile development teams

Experience integrating with e-commerce and payment back-end solutions.

Experience in creating UX deliverables, including wireframes, storyboards, style guides/pattern guides

3-5 years of experience in UI design or graphic design
