Primary Job Function

Support the execution of transportation supply chain processes that meet customer expectations and Abbott Nutrition Supply Chain goals and objectives.

Support the development, coordination, and communication of key performance data:

On-time performance, compliance reporting, and carrier performance.  Functional responsibilities include planning and execution of AN transportation modes, proactive problem resolution, on-time delivery, performance measurements and reporting, and cost savings programs.

Core Job Responsibilities

Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system.

Specific functional areas of responsibility include:

  • Daily planning and scheduling of all inbound/outbound truckloads/direct LTL's of finished goods for the designated Abbott Nutrition DC and 3PL RDC site(s).
  • Load leveling inbound/outbound volumes where feasible to ensure DC efficiencies.
  • Resolve daily issues and collaborate with support groups to ensure quick resolution.
  • Carrier Management: Follow up with carriers on issues affecting pick up schedule or final delivery to customer, equipment capacity load capacity, monitor missed/late pickups, and collaborate with earner to cover loads
  • Support Transportation Group with projects that meet customer service needs and cost requirements.
  • Transportation Management System user. SAP ECC 6.0 system user.
  • Pull, organize and analyze data for metric and performance reporting development.
  • On-call duties required

    Specific responsibilities include:

    • Proactive coordination of on-time delivery for all assigned site(s).
    • Support the resolution situations that may jeopardize AN delivery performance and meet customer PO must arrive by dates.
    • Support Transportation Management System from a training, maintenance and administrative perspective.
    • Support the development of monthly carrier scorecards and monitor overall performance against scorecard goals and expectations.
    • Support carrier biweekly operational meetings.
    • Must interact effectively with CSO, Plant DC Operations, 3PL Operations, Customer Service Operations, Carrier base Operations, and Division Logistics teams.
    • Support and/or lead department with various projects and assignments as necessary.

      Minimum Education


      Bachelor’s degree preferred, Transportation or Logistics experience preferred

      Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals.

      Related transportation scheduling and planning or AN experience of 2-4 years

      SAP and or BlueJay Knowledge

      Microsoft office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access) are required.
