**Job Description:**

**Position Overview**

This Test Engineer position falls within the Carborne Engineering (CE) department. CE develops train safety systems on board light and heavy rail vehicles. The systems monitor the train to ensure safe travels for its passengers.

Specifically, the Test Engineering group performs the final verification and validation of the train safety systems designed by CE.


+ Overall responsibility - this candidate will be responsible for the development and execution of test procedures for specific train systems.

+ The candidate will work with project teams across various disciplines to understand the system requirements and develop the test procedures for those systems.

+ The candidate will develop the test plan. The plan includes both the technical requirements as well as the resource requirements. The candidate will then work with the Testing Manager to ensure quality of the test plan and procedures, and to assign resources to the project.

**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**

+ Education - BSEE, BS Computer Science, BS Computer Engineering

+ Design and or Testing of Embedded Systems, minimum 8 years

+ Troubleshooting Embedded Systems, minimum 8 years

+ Experience in the Rail Industry is a plus, but not required

+ Experience working in a team environment, including cross functions

+ Travel is likely 10-20% on average
