**Job Description:**

**Position Overview**

Based in our Siemens PLM Software offices in Milford OH, US this position involves working on the NX CAD product, with a focus on Electrical and Mechanical Routing, in the NX Design Product Definition Team.

The successful candidate will define Requirement and Functional Specifications for the NX CAD product with focus on surpassing customer expectations and achieving high quality and on-time delivery. Some customer interaction is likely to be required.

You will be working within a team of 7 highly qualified engineers located in the USA and Europe, as well as working with NX Routing Product Management, software development and QA teams in Europe, USA, India and China. Responsible for defining functional, interaction and UI aspects of assigned projects, from requirement gathering and definition through to detailed functional and interaction definition and subsequent evaluation of solution in-product.

+ Contribute individually or in a team as needed to define and meet the requirements of various projects

+ Define a wide range of functionality solutions to support industry workflows.

+ Document designs in a clear and concise manner.

+ Work with lead developer and/or senior definition team members to ensure successful implementation of projects

+ Assist in maintaining existing product - analyze and define solutions to customer and internally reported problems.

+ Work with customers to understand and improve NX product.

+ Follow the various steps in the Software Development Lifecycle Process (SDLC) including writing specification documents.

+ Communication and collaboration within the team and with customers

+ Ensure ongoing quality of the product delivered to customers

**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**

Bachelor, Master or higher degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Automotive/Aeronautical Engineering.

Strong experience of 3D CAD systems as end user or in a CAD vendor sales or support role in the areas of Mechanical /Electrical Routing. Experience of PDM. Preferable systems are NX, Mentor Graphics Capital and Xpedition and Teamcenter. 5+ years.

Demonstrated experience of defining detailed technical solutions. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Attention to detail. Able to work under pressure and juggle multiple priorities to meet agreed delivery schedules. Effective organizational and time management skills. Able to work well with minimal supervision. Capable of independent as well as collaborative work. A team player, flexible and self-motivated. Easy to get along with. Perseverance. Able to hold the line when needed. An aptitude for usability.

Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.

The ability and desire to continually improve and learn about new areas.

Experienced user of core Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Some customer interaction is likely, as is travel to other Siemens PL sites, both of which require travel.

**Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**

Experience in one or more mechanical routing systems (piping, HVAC, tubing) and/or electrical harness design would be advantageous.

Some experience of using graphics tools (ie Photoshop).

Some experience of programming (ie Python, VBA, .Net).
