**Job Description:**

This position is within the Development-Technology Application section of the Innovation group within Large Gas Turbine Service Technology and Innovation. The primary role of this group is to develop equipment as needed to evaluate proof of concepts of the application of technologies to the service business. These trials can be in any area of the service business and have ranged from automated inspection equipment, automated machining stations, field service tooling, and additive manufacturing trials. The range of efforts will continue to expand.

+ The main objective of this position is to support the integration of hardware, software and analytics as needed for the development of proof of concepts for evaluations of new technologies or potential solutions to service business opportunities

+ The main tasks of this position are to support integration of automation and of analytics into Large Gas Turbine Service development proof of concepts.

- Lead proof of concept to test potential technologies especially related to combined analytics and mechanics

- Scout specific areas of technology to application to the service business or expansion of the service business

- Support proof of concept projects especially with respect to electronic and mechanical interfaces

- Support evaluation of technologies and companies capabilities for application to service business

- Support the development of new business models with knowledge of technologies and technology potential


+ Develop proof of concepts for evaluation

+ Support integration of hardware software and analytics within other developments

+ Evaluate / assess technologies and companies for potential application

+ Support development of new business models with technical knowledge and analysis

+ Search for emerging technologies and companies for potential application (Scouting)

Research emerging technologies for potential applications

Provide input to new business model development with regards to potential applications of technology

Evaluate capabilities of technologies and companies

Integrate hardware, software and analytics in the development of proof of concept equipment

**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**

+ Masters degree in Mechanical, Controls or Software Engineering

+ 2+ years experience with research and development

+ 20 % of expected travel within the US and international

+ Experience working in small, fast multi-disciplinary development teams

+ Experience in managing smaller projects to successful completion
