Leads feature teams made up of cross functional members to define and develop software requirements for new features and features being extended.  Analyze and plan methods of approach to solutions of complex software features and problems.

Responsible for managing software requirements.  This includes traces to product requirements, development of design specifications, elaboration of user scenarios, feature allocations, hazards, etc. using the requirements processes and tools.

Defines Internal and External Interface specifications (i.e. LIS, LAS, AbbottLink) using industry standards (ie. Ethernet, HL7).

May provide technical consultation to technical staff concerning problems within a software feature or requirement set.

Recommend methods or corrections in technical reviews to reduce complexity and insure project completion.

Participates in an Agile process identifying tasks to define total feature scope, selecting individual tasks each iteration and providing status updates to the team and software manager.

Interface with product team members, test engineers, marketing, customers, quality and regulatory (internal), software engineering, Instrument Development managers, and operations and product service professionals.

Provide on-market  product support to include evaluation of issues/problems and Risk management tasks including evaluation of problem hazards and potential frequency calculations.

Preferred Experience Experience

Knowledge and experience working with IVD products utilized in diagnostic laboratories

Understanding of peri-analytic products utilized in diagnostic laboratories and common interfaces (ASTM/HL7)

Experience using ADD design control tools including SBM, DOORs and APLM

Understanding of User Interface concepts and ability to give guidance on Screen layout/design

Experience working within technical cross-functional teams

Experience working within technical cross-functional teams

Knowledge and experience in software development

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree with ten years progressive work experience,or Bachelors degree with six years progressive work experience,or Master degree with four years progressive work experience.   Experience covering the entire software lifecycle in a team-oriented environment. Experience in object-oriented analysis and design. For embedded application development, prior experience with developing embedded applications is a must. Experience with timing analysis and resource allocation as well as memory management is required. Experience in defining Internal and External software interfaces using program and industry standards. Experience in designing, authoring, and executing software tests.
