**Job Description:**

Siemens Postal, Parcel, and Airport Logistics LLC is in search of a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our Quality Management team at our DFW Airport location. In this role, you will participate in the implementation of Quality Mgmt. Systems & Techniques, (QMST). You will also conduct semi-complex audits and/or surveys to determine acceptability of quality controls and participate in formulating quality standards, policies, programs, plans, procedures, and practices. Additionally, you must be able to perform semi-complex statistical analysis as related to quality and participate in the analysis of production limitations and problems for continuous improvement opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

Analyze and Evaluates a suppliers quality management system processes to meet our Customers requirements, determine suppliers capabilities, and any other activities as defined to determine efficiencies, ability to perform, reduction of defects, and cost effectiveness.

Ensure suppliers are responsible for their quality. Tie specific project and/or part requirements to various suppliers to meet company goals. Takes appropriate actions to assure / influence accomplishment of the required product consistency.

Analyzes and investigates internal / external customer perceived problems, field service reported, and department related issues. Develops plans of action to correct and / or prevent such issues.

Independently performs important areas of standard professional level work that typically requires

processing and interpreting, more complex, less clearly-defined issues. Refers semi-complex, unusual problems to others. Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly-defined problems.

Compiles, coordinates, and communicates a wide range of data to support management objectives of supplier defect reductions by recognizing trends & developments and to exert influences accordingly.

Safeguard companys private or classified data contained in cost and price information, specifications, standards, procedures and processes.

Obtains and maintains knowledge of company policies and procedures, including health and safety requirements.

Education / Experience

BS/BA in related discipline, or advanced degree, where required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification may be required in some areas.

Demonstrates a good grasp of knowledge and principles of field of specialization and applies through successful completion of assignments. Successfully applies knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of area specialization.

Typically, 2-5 years of successful experience in related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above. Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience, where applicable.


Extensive knowledge of commodity field being assigned to manage.

In depth knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality System.

Ability to lead / facilitate Process improvements and supplier development.

Ability to interpret and utilize Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, Quality Functional Deployment, Design for Manufacturing/Assembly, Value Engineering, and measurement systems capabilities.

Requires the ability to effectively use a computer, word processor, and spreadsheets.

Requires the ability to read, comprehend, and follow company policies and procedures.

Requires strong planning, leadership and communication skills and use of diplomacy and tact when dealing with suppliers, and other personnel.

May provide general guidance or train lower level support staff.
