**Job Description:**







**Supplier Quality Assurance Professional ** **GE Aero derivative and Heavy Frames**







**Position Overview:**







Are **you** ready to work in a startup like environment, responsible for multiple roles,(Supplier Quality Management, Supplier Quality /Manufacturing engineer)managing and interfacing with external suppliers to support creation of new value chains which ensure execution while obtaining the maximum benefit for our customers?







The roles main objectives:







- Qualify and audit new and current supplier base.







- Proactively ensuring the highest possible quality levels for purchased materials.



- Build strong relationships with the suppliers and review of supplier related processes such as qualification, development, integration, monitoring, and auditing.



- Leading manufacturing improvements, complex process changes, and technology changes including developing a core team, assigning/reporting to a steering committee, projecting efforts involved with implementation, and identifying impacts to the business.







**Responsibilities:**



- Applies advanced skills to resolve complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices independently.



- Display a high level of critical thinking in bringing successful resolution to high impact, complex, and/or cross functional problems.



- Act as both Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Engineer in the resolution of Quality issues.



- Coordinate the qualification of new material with R&D, Operations Engineering and supplier.



- Maintain and Analyze Key Performance Indicators and Cost of Poor Quality data to identify recurring trends and drive improvement actions to reduce internal and external failure costs



- Drive Supplier actions to verify part and process quality at the Suppliers location to reduce the need for incoming inspection activities from Supply chain.



- Development of quality plans, general quality agreements, quality requirement specifications



- Lead the resolution of warranty issues and provide technical support to Field Service Representatives.



- Lead supplier audits of new and existing suppliers



- Provides specialized guidance or train support and/or professional staff.







**Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience**



**Education:**



- Bachelors Degree or higher in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering highly preferred.







**Knowledge and Experience:**



-ASQ certification preferred, but may be substituted with other formal supply chain degree or certification



-8 + years of experience with Aerospace or Power working with suppliers, preferably in a supplier development role that includes audits, and reviews.



-Strong problem solving and analytical skills



-Ability to quickly learn new processes, systems and software applications



-Proficient with MS Excel and MS office applications



-Experience successfully influencing, leading and driving collaboration across functions



-Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, etc.)



-Effective communication and collaboration skills. Proven ability to work with multiple departments, such as Purchasing, Engineering, and Manufacturing.



-Must be willing to travel both domestic and international.



-Ability to work with the supply base of assigned commodities to reach long-term corrective action on quality issues, and assist in the development of new supplier processes







**Requirements:**







**-** **A working knowledge of Power turbine, Gas Generator and combustion design and application of GE Industrial Aero-derivative Gas Turbine models LM 2500 including variants, LM 6000 including variants.**



- Understanding of heavy manufacturing, as well as current techniques and technologies to produce highly engineered product to support **GE Heavy Frames 7FA, 9FA** **,** **Mature Technology GE Heavy Frames B & E class.**



- Ability to work with the supply base of assigned commodities to reach long-term corrective action on quality issues, and assist in the development of new supplier processes.



- Demonstrates significant knowledge of organization's business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues.



- Demonstrates and applies comprehensive knowledge of field of specialization to the successful completion of complex assignments.



- Demonstrates advanced knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization.



- Demonstrated understanding of tooling and fixtures for manufacturing and its impact to dimensional accuracy and welding quality.



- Experience using different types of bills of materials.



- A history of driving projects in a very adverse conditions.



- Experience reading engineering drawings and gaining an understanding of manufacturing process requirements such as job sequence, workflow, fixture requirements, cell layouts, etc.



- Coordinating and communicating technical information to and from all levels of the organization including vendors, project managers, production team members, and operations managers.



- Leading manufacturing improvements, complex process changes, and technology changes including developing a core team, assigning/reporting to a steering committee, projecting efforts involved with implementation, and identifying impacts to the business.



- Coordinating and communicating technical information to and from all levels of the organization including vendors, project managers, production team members, and operations managers.



- Six Sigma Master Black Belt / Six Sigma Black Belt / Lean Expert Certification



- Practical experience in Customer Service / Maintenance / After Market businesses and technologies within the Aerospace or Energy industry preferred.



- Practical experience using complex Factory Planning Methods such as defining high level manufacturing plans, identifying / analyzing new technologies required, creating a value stream analysis, performing total space needs analysis, performing total capacity needs analysis, implementation planning, etc. preferred.



- Practical experience transferring technical knowledge, manufacturing knowledge, and proprietary technologies from lead factories to market factories preferred.







- Bi-lingual German and English is a plus.







**- Position location in Orlando, FL or Houston, TX. Some flexibility will be given to location for outstanding candidates and in the interest on building a critical mass location center.**
