**Position Overview:**







Siemens Healthineers Molecular Imaging, a $1 Billion

Business Unit within Siemens Medical Solutions US, has an opening for an

Electrical Engineer at our Rockford, TN location. We are a high-technology

business leading the change towards personalized medicine. The selected

candidate will join the Detector Center Research & Development department,

responsible for the development and lifecycle of the current product and next

generation of Molecular Imaging PET Detectors.







Successful candidate will possess a solid understanding

of Detector Physics and be capable of translating functional requirements into

efficient working designs. Successful candidate will be required to be a hands

on physicist. Candidates will utilize their technical expertise to provide

imaginative, thorough, and practical organizationally aligned solutions to new

development and sustaining challenges. Candidates must be comfortable with the

application of technical theories and concepts in developmental environments

and have some level of general knowledge of other related disciplines.

Candidates must be comfortable in an environment where quick, innovative and

cost saving solutions work hand in hand with trouble shooting and sustaining of

existing design platforms. Candidate must have strong written and verbal

communication skills and have the ability to work independently, yet

collaboratively, in multidisciplinary team environment.







**This Role will include the following responsibilities:**



Project leadership in next generation Positron Emission Tomography (PET)

detector research and development projects, technical interface between

technology suppliers (sensors, academics, and collaborators) and internal

researchers. Contribute to feasibility and improvement studies throughout the

complete lifecycle: high-level design, concept research, simulation, prototype

evaluation, performance testing, system integration testing, manufacturing

launch and sustaining through commercialization.







Specific responsibilities

are below







Ph.D. in

physics /electrical/nuclear engineering or related experimental field







A minimum

of 5-10 years of experience in a research environment in one of these

experimental physics fields: PET, SPECT, radiation physics, nuclear physics,

radiation detector development, particle physics, or related field.







Supports

the technology/ innovation roadmap of the PET detector team.







Supports

hardware innovation development at all levels within the detector: Optics,

sensors, scintillators, ASICs, analog electronics, and digital electronics.







Supports

data acquisition and data analysis on bench experiments and prototypes







Assures

transfer of technologies into product solutions by working closely with other

R&D teams and product management







Participates

in publication of results at conferences and in peer-reviewed journals







Protects

innovations with invention disclosures







Travels

both internationally and domestically for customer visits and conferences







Strong

computer skills







Excellent

hand-on laboratory skills, passion for experimental work







Detail

oriented and organized, excellent communication skills, written and oral







Excellent

interpersonal skills and can do attitude







Strong

collaboration skills and ability to thrive in a virtual and fast-paced
