Overview / Responsibilities 

Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is searching for a Geologist or Environmental Scientist to support environmental compliance, investigation and restoration projects in the St. Louis office to join our Capital Projects Group team in St. Louis, MO. We are looking for self-motivated candidates who are able to work as part of a dynamic project team; think clearly; has good technical writing skills; and is preferably familiar with investigative and sampling methods used commonly in Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) projects. 

Key Responsibilities
•Under direct supervision of the project manager or senior staff, represent Wood and interact in a professional manner with Wood personnel, and client and subcontractor representatives while on assignments
•Field activities may include, but not limited to, soil boring logging, groundwater monitoring well installations, collecting soil, groundwater, vapor, air, and sediment samples subcontractor oversight during assessment activities 
•Office activities may include, but not limited to, analysis and interpretation of geologic/hydrogeologic data, soil and water analytical results and preparation of reports
•Prepare tables and figures using analytical data and topographic/site maps
•Perform analysis of data and work with Excel spreadsheets
•Working knowledge of Access and/or AutoCAD and/or GIS and gINT a plus
•Perform standard or routine calculations
•Follow Wood/client safety standards, and prepare site-specific Health and Safety Plans/Job Hazard Analyses
•Coordinate with subcontractors (such as analytical laboratories and drillers) while performing office assignments 

Skills / Qualifications 
•B.S. in Geology or Environment Science
•Must be a self-starter with excellent written and verbal communication skills, but also be a team player 3+ years of solid field experience (soil borings, well installations, multi-media sampling)
•2+ years report preparation with good technical writing skills
•Knowledge of/experience in application of RCRA/TACO environmental regulations is a plus
•Experience in application of environmental regulations to project work
•Good data management and general organizational skills
•Strong computer skills for database work and proficiency in MS Office
•Flexible to work outside normal business hours as required
•40-hour HAZWOPER training completed with subsequent annual refreshers
•Knowledge of RCRA environmental requirements is a plus
•Hands on knowledge of the use of field equipment
•Ability to communicate clearly with project manager, senior staff and contractors regarding work assignments
•Valid driver's license
•Operate pickup truck and/or other motor vehicle(s)
•Must pass drug screening, background check and physical exam
•Travel to project sites

Physical Demands
•Ability to stoop, kneel, climb and lift up to 50 pounds
•Use hands to operate field equipment
•Wear a respirator as required
•Work at remote sites around construction equipment, drill rigs and environmental contamination
•Be subject to periods of extreme heat/cold and other environmental conditions such as wind and humidity
