**Job Location:** Florida: Tampa

**Job Summary:** The Vendor and Expense Management team supports the end-to-end vendor procurement process across MetLifes US Business. The vendor process includes assisting partners with requirement statements, return on investment and funding approvals, plus request for proposal statements and selection for key vendors to support US business applications, services and consultants. Additional responsibilities include ongoing monitoring, communicating at multiple levels of management the overall health of the vendor arrangement. The associate will have a visible role in managing vendor deliverables and expectations.

**Functional Responsibilities:**

This individual will be a key participant in supporting a variety of strategic vendor initiatives. Reporting to the Director of Vendor & Expense Management, this position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

+ Influencing unit cost initiatives, providing guidance on new initiatives, contract renewals, as well as providing vendor feedback from across US Business units.

+ Driving cost leadership by optimizing operating model, managing consulting and professional services and reporting metrics.

+ Influencing vendor optimization savings across US Business, reviewing top suppliers and areas to reduce cost or increase opportunities.

+ Managing the end-to-end onboarding of new vendors, tracking activities through completion to ensure all tasks have been executed based on the vendor category.

+ Managing ongoing monitoring and issue resolution for top suppliers.

+ Executing supplier management tasks as required, supporting audit and business continuity exercises.

**Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:**


+ Experience (5+ years) in business financial management and business experience in the financial services industry or in insurance industry

+ Strong program management and analytical skills

+ Accomplished team player with business acumen demonstrating sound business judgment and knowledge of the insurance products, processes and technology. Ability to inspire trust, confidence, and respect of peers and management.

+ Hands-on experience implementing cross functional solutions (technical/non- technical)

+ Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills including oral and written communication, relationship building, collaboration, negotiation and conflict resolution across the team and with business partners

+ Proven experience with navigating and excelling within a highly matrixed organization

+ Ability to work independently with flexibility and focus in a dynamic environment

Job Summary: Acts as the liaison between MetLife and vendors contracted to service the company in various capacities. Acts as the internal contact to facilitate resolution to issues and concerns related to external vendors. Researches and requests vendor proposals, negotiates vendor contracts, and develops service level agreements that meet business needs.

Functional Responsibilities: Responsible for overseeing complex and high profile relationships with external vendors. Develops and negotiates very complex domestic and overseas vendor contracts, contract standards, and service level agreements that meet business needs. Oversees the work of vendors across a large business organization. Performs vendor analysis and recommends vendor selection to management. Acts as the internal contact for receiving and resolving issues and concerns related to assigned high profile vendors. Develops and implements process improvement solutions related to vendor processes and works with operating areas to implement. Ensures vendor service level agreements are being met and that vendor performance aligns with strategic goals and priorities. Assesses outsourcing and offshoring opportunities and assists in the creation of the strategy and execution of outsourced/offshored work. Requests and researches vendor proposals. May manage vendor budgets. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Leads and motivates company wide or cross LOB project teams and provides guidance to lower level staff.

Typical Experience: 10+ years of related work experience. Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent experience.
