Within Global Technology and Operations (GTO), the centralized TechQA organization, tasked with all software testing, is looking for you to lead the planning and execution of small to large testing projects in terms of duration and complexity. You will have responsibility for managing the work of the testing project managers (employees and vendors) for the various technology applications involved in the program. Although direct administrative supervision is not part of this role, having this in your experience is a plus, as leadership, management and multi-level communication skills are key. In this leadership role, you will partner closely with development and business stakeholders to ensure the quality of the business solution into the production environment. The GTO group is a diverse team of engineers, developers, and business and project managers with the freedom to create innovative solutions to core business challenges within MetLife.

MetLife testing is heavily oriented towards consultants. In applying for this position, you will be considered for both of the very critical roles that may be assigned to a Sr. Testing Project Lead

Oversight and auditing of a large number of small to medium testing project with primary responsibility residing with the vendor consultant. This will require the ability to manage a large scope of simultaneous projects at a higher oversight level.

Test Project Management for medium and large projects across multiple applications. This will require deeper project management on concentrated projects.

Although assignments may vary, please indicate your preference and skillset supporting that preference in your application.

**Key Responsibilities** :

+ Working independently, oversees large numbers of small to medium testing projects or manages medium to large testing projects. (size of projects includes duration and complexity and their associated project teams)

+ Identifies resources needed, assembles project team, assigns individual responsibilities

+ Determines scope and documents scope and deliverables based on documentation and requirements supplied

+ Manages stakeholders (customers, vendors, etc.) and team expectations.

+ Manages assigned resources to ensure on-time completion of planned tasks

+ Identify and mitigate issues and risks.

+ Facilitates project meetings and produces meeting minutes

+ Creates and maintains project documentation

+ Works with various areas of the organization within and outside the IT organization including clients, project members, management, vendors, and other LOBs.

+ Leads IT project teams (virtual, matrix) and applies project management processes (including managing stakeholder expectations, communications, budget management, schedule management, performance reporting, etc.) to an IT project.

+ Maintains scope, cost and schedule of projects through management of the project or sub-project team and interaction with the Project Sponsor,

+ Serves as a role model by demonstrating commitment to commonly adopted processes and standards for project management.

+ Builds and maintains effective on-going communications and relationships between the IT project team and management to ensure that the IT project is completed in a manner that satisfies project objectives.

+ Mentors less senior staff members

+ Oversees assigned virtual or matrixed project staff members

+ The following Command Center functions are within the scope of this position. Some may ultimately be specialized into certain roles.

+ Test Data Management - Consolidate Test Data Requirements from different environments and coordinates data for testing

+ Defect and Defect Triage Management - managing critical defects to closure among multiple development groups

+ Performance Test Coordination - ensuring performance testing proceeds and completes

+ Automation evaluation and control

+ Reporting Coordination - ensuring value and professional status reporting

+ Smoke Test Leadership **Required Experience:**

+ Bachelors degree required.

+ 6-8+ years working experience in IT or related experience

+ 3-5+ years project management experience

+ Proficient with project management concepts such as Scope, Communication, Financial and Risk Management practices

+ Detailed knowledge and/or experience with technology concepts and Software Development Life Cycle methodologies (i.e.: Waterfall, Iterative, Agile, etc.)

+ Proficient with office automation tools (MS Office suite of applications, email, Internet, etc.)

+ Experience working with Project Portfolio Management tools

+ Experienced with managing offshore teams and/or vendors.

+ Excellent communication and analytical skills, inclusive of written, verbal and listening. Customer Service Orientation and strong teamwork

+ Actively working on or already PMP certified.
